Shoutout to when this rural Spanish village had to remove its town hall's LGBTQ+ flag because of the complaint of 3 right-wing neighbors, so they put 400 flags all around the town to piss them off :))
📍Villanueva de Algaidas (Málaga)
As I have seen this thread full of lies about the protests and the causes of the current state of pre-civil war in Spain, I will do another one debunking all of this and explaining everything from a more objective point of view.
Spain is currently being the country with the lowest inflation and the highest economic growth of the EU.
Yet, most surveys indicate a defeat for the government. It's so unfair how spaniards are being brainwashed by Trump-like fake news.
Fingers crossed for the July's election.
Couldn't be prouder! 🇪🇸💜 The people have spoken, polls have lost and we have rejected the right. Such a deserved result, even though it could not enough.
We need JxC votes. They can abstain, it's possible if we can give them what they want in return 🤞🏻.
People don't understand that the lifespan of these nuclear power plants has ended and maintaining them is extremely costly.
This is a market-based decision not a government one, the private owners prefer shutting them down to invest in cheap renewables instead of upgrading them.
BREAKING:
The new Spanish left-wing government has decided to follow Germany down into the abyss by dismantling all its nuclear power plants.
According to the new coalition government, all 7 nuclear reactors are to be dismantled and replaced by renewable energy.
🇪🇸
Stop believing in Franco's propaganda. The Spanish civil war wasn't fascists vs. communists, but violent fascists vs. the legitimate Republic.
There were violent comunist fighting against Franco? Yes, however it's overly simplistic to summarize the war that way.
Bad news!
The international vote count gives an extra seat for PP in Madrid. This means it won't be enough with Junts abstention in Sanchez's investiture, now they have to vote yes.
The probabilities of a snap elections are now higher 🥲.
You can hate Milei as much as I do. But you cannot deny that Milei has made Argentine politics so relevant on the world stage that even the presidential debate is being televised here, on Spanish public TV.
I think it's the first time this happens with a latinoamerican debate.
@nikicaga
Importing electricity from Iberia, Iberian prices have been marking French ones most of the time lately due to high renewable production. When Iberia stops exporting to France their spot price jumps to ~30-40€/mwh
Journalist: Why did you vote against congenital heart disease screening programs?
Milei: that implies a greater presence of the state interfering in the lives of citizens. It involves more spending. We vote according to the Liberal Ideology.

We have a new record in the democracy speedrun leaderboard!
This village, Villaroya and its 5 inhabitants, famously known for voting very fast. Closed the ballot boxes in just 29 seconds beating his own record.
And when during the lockdown 14 women knitted a huge LGBTQ+ flag in Aguilar de la Frontera (Córdoba)
Both of them andalusian rural towns. I love the south
Sorry for being a renewable energy nerd, but thanks to them electricity is now free here, energy exports are at their limit, and electric storage stations are filling up!
This is becoming more and more usual, we should keep investing in green energy
Why Madrid is that right wing if it's a major city?:
-Francoist adoctrination
-Superiority complex for being the capital (the right is centrist, the left has to ally with independentists)
-Higher concentration of rich people
This diplomatic crisis between Spain and Israel is non-sensical.
Basically, a minister of the government wants to bring Netanyahu to the International Criminal Court for war crimes.
The response of Israel embassy: there are ISIS supporters in the spanish government.
Wtf???
We ask our partner that, as the Government of Spain, we bring Netanyahu before the International Criminal Court for war crimes. Here is my official statement 👇
@EddMBL
A libertarian party would never subsidize the poor to have access to "quality private education".He would point fingers at them as "welfare parasites", give them a handout, and eliminate compulsory education (as they have promised) so that they can cut down spending on education.
And they did it again!
Despite the lies, despite the violence, despite the threats.
Nothing can beat democracy. People voted socialdemocracy and progressivism, and we will enjoy 4 more years of leftist goverment 🌹🌹.
The good part of Milei's victory is that it will serve as a warning for the world to know what an anarcho-capitalist populist government led by a schizo means.
I'm so sorry for the argentinians workers, though.
These misleading messages are hurting the Spanish democracy.
We democratically voted for a left, progressive and socialdemocrat government.
Right politicians should understand it is not a coup d'etat when you don't like the election result and how dangerous their messages are.
@That_Garth_Guy
Also, he knows nothing about what Semana Santa is for andalusians. I know a lot of agnostic/atheist people and even lgbtq people who love Semana Santa. It is, for most people, just another tradition that has nothing to be with Christianity. The Bible prohibits praising images
Voting!!
I have zero hopes for this election, though. Fake news (Trump-like style) have hurt the incumbent government a lot, so much that I think it's irreversible.
Short thread about PSOE/SUMAR historical accomplishments 🧵
1. Low inflation
Spain holds one of the lowest inflations of the EU as a result of the price controls of rents and gas, fare-free public transportation (or subsidized discount), gasoline subsidies...
Woah, first time this ever happens to me.
I promise I will read all the insults this night when I get home bcs I got low internet right now. Don't worry, be patient. Gn
For a better understanding of why Ciudadanos disappeared. They were occupying an inexistent political space in Spain, they were playing to be "centrist" when they were right/right-wing.
This infographic shows the transfer of politicians to the right-wing party. Ciudadanos leads.
This should be illegal in the EU.🇮🇹 electricity is right now almost twice as expensive as 🇪🇸 one.
Europe has the infrastructure to export ours, but 🇫🇷 blocks it to protect their nuclear interests.
Meanwhile 🇮🇹 is burning gas and coal. A green future is impossible with blockades.
However, in 2019 the new leftist government started a dialogue with independentists, resulting in a pacification of the conflict. Violent protests disappeared and polls show that independence support declined (unlike the thread says).
"And I, I am not ashamed to say it, am a man deeply in love with my wife who lives helplessly with the mud that is spread on her day in and day out."
Oh, God
The right is not happy about this and chose violence again.
We've had a week of violent protests in the socialist party headquarters encouraged by the misleading messages of the right politicians.
Shoutout to when I was meeting a guy and his ex showed me what he was saying about me on his alt
I think I've never been insulted so harshly before lol 🧍🏻♂️
A right wing account with 55k followers comparing Sánchez with Kennedy, the most important right wing telegram group talking about raising money to shoot Sanchez...
This looks bad, so fucking bad. Don't be surprised if a PSOE politician gets murdered.
All these reforms are going to be carried out according to the law. There is not any kind of "coup d'etat", the left coalition gained a majority with the independentists democratically. It is the right that is promoting a coup through misleading messages about the investiture.
It's incredible how solar power changed the Spanish electricity mix so much in just a year, ironically decreasing significantly gas and coal emissions (besides the popular belief).
I'm so excited to see how it will look like next year
@babel_UV
Argentina no es una socialdemocracia. Una socialdemocracia respeta al mercado y no permitiría niveles tan altos de inflación mientras se crea tal cantidad de dinero.
Contrary to the thread, there's no agreement to held a Catalonian independence referendum.
This won't happen because an independence referendum is impossible, as it would contradict the Constitution.
It was later revealed to be an Iranian terrorist who shot him.
Thankfully, he survived if not, we wouldn't know the truth .
The last time a thing like this happened, a spiral of violence started leading to a Civil war and the establishment of a fascist dictatorship.
A pinochetist party is going to write the constitution that is going to replace the Pinochet Constitution
In 2023, I cannot believe it, Chile is so fucked up
Fist a bit of context. In 2017 the Catalan independence movement surged after an illegal referendum because the right party responded violently with the police attacking voters, pushing them down stairs, assaulting the elderly...
I CAN'T CONTAIN MY EXCITEMENT
This summer before the elections I was 100% sure the right was going to win.
But finally it is confirmed Pedro Sanchez will continue being president 🥳
The right parties have taken advantage of the uncertainty about the concesions the independentists will demand to lie.
Lies that are very dangerous in the current violent climate and that could lead to a Civil War (unlikely I hope) but it is a feeling I think we all have.
This year, the right party PP "won" the elections but lacks a majority, even with the far right votes. However, the left can secure a majority with the independentists' votes, but they'll need to fulfill some of their demands in exchange.
This has nothing to be with the german nuclear shut down in which functional nuclear power plants were closed because of a political decision.
It will be a process, from 2027 to 2035 in which they'll be shouted down AFTER renewables and storage have replaced nuclear and coal.
For example, the most dangerous of the lies was when two days ago, a former right-wing politician, who left the party due to illegal financing with Iran, was shot in the face.
The right initially blamed the left, leading to more violence.
The war on European nationalists…
Alejo Vidal-Quadras, the founder of Vox (3rd largest party, anti-immigration, pro-family) was just shot in the face in Spain.
This follows a recent string of violent attacks against the “far-right” in Europe.
Last month, there was an
There's no agreement either on granting Catalonia full fiscal autonomy (100% retention of taxes).
The agreement focuses on continuing negotiations for increasing the Catalan fiscal autonomy.
This is so scary, after days of violent protests because the left will continue ruling, a right politician was assaulted in the street (main hypothesis by the police) and shot in the face.
The press is taking this out of context, treating this as a terrorist attack by the left.
BREAKING:
The founder of Spain’s right-wing Vox Party was shot in the face just minutes ago in Madrid, Spain.
Alejo Vidal-Quadras is in hospital in critical condition.
Of course, I don't support the kidnapping or murder of Israeli civilians.
That doesn't mean Palestinians have been unfairly oppressed by Israel since the occupation started.
This was inevitably going to end up in the rebellion of the oppressed. Violence creates more violence.
