Arsenal are evolving past Tierney: - Martinelli’s preference to receive on the touchline reduces his strengths - He’s not technical enough to invert - Muscular injuries have made him a liability 1v1

Rice and Onana will skyrocket the creativity and output of Arsenal's attackers. This rest-defense will act as a platform for the attackers to express themselves. watch how Saka/Martinelli/Odegaard get more aggressive and seek more output when they're supported by Rice + Onana.

Kiwior was not inverted for his quality centrally. - Kiwior inverted allowed better width protection from Gabriel. - Clog centrally to allow wide play. - Created space by attracting Nuremburg block via presence.

People don't realise how good Gabriel Jesus is. His understanding of the game in unclear moments and interpretative situations is only bettered by Benzema’s. While he does lack final action execution, he’s the type to explode in his late 20s- early 30s.

Alper Demirol. - Use of ball manipulation to evade pressure. - Upright stance to disguise pass. - Slender build gives access to acute passing lanes. - Appreciation of angles. Wonderful.

Escapes pressure in small spaces, short backlift to get shots away early, comfortable receiving back to goal, great step count, range of pass. His build + touch / feinting is similar to Ribéry. He is a better environment away from eclipsing other talents such as Olise and Foden

Southampton have agreed deal to sign Zach Awe, 19, who is now expected to compete for a first-team place at centre-back under Russell Martin this season. Deal involved compensation (due to age) going to #Arsenal where he was until this summer. #SaintsFC beat strong competition

Everton used a similar set up to what Newcastle and Palace used against us. They all put emphasis on protecting the half spaces, with their 8's marking our 8's and using cover shadows to press the inverted Fbs. Caused our build up great problems.

Really like Dyche's flat three midfield as a solution to Arsenal's inverting FB. Gives you flexibility without losing cover. It's causing problems to Arsenal in build up.

Arsenal’s High Press Vs City: - Asymmetrical 433/424 press. - Allowed GK +1 but excluded Dias from build up. - Ortega shown to weaker foot, reducing quality of outball. - Vertical solutions limited by aggressive marking on Haaland.

Arsenal use of GK as CB in the build up allowed +1 in next line of build up which impacted opponents decision making in pressing and stretched opponent vertically.

Jorginho has to start for Arsenal. He is our best ball-circulator, bar none. Never plays the obvious pass, disguises intent on his passes via orientation-manipulation and has variety of pass-techniques. ESR - Jorginho - Odegaard.
