Ouch. Kicked out of my weekly Roll20 group b/c the DM wants a wkly commitment from the players. My custody schedule for my kids alternates every other week, so I can never do the same day weekly.
It was the ‘commitment’ part that stung. Single dad here.

It’s taken me this long to finally see it, but I told
#DnD
Twitter I would watch it!
HOT DAMN that was good movie!
So let’s help each other friends, what are some other great fantasy movies that are a must see? I need a good D&D like movie thread for some ideas!
Clash of the Titans (1981) is such a comfort movie for me to rewatch.
And the Medusa scene, on the hunt with her bow and Harryhausen moves….perfection.
Any other fans out there?
It has been brought to my attention some of you have never seen this gloriousness that is the Dungeons & Dragons movie we’ve always wanted.
Man, this would’ve been a blockbuster. Instead it remains a crazy car commercial.
#DnD
A lot of you told me this scene in Excalibur, where Sir Uryens knights Arthur mid battle was your favorite scene or at least runner up.
It is indeed worthy. The cojones on this man mustve been other worldly.
#Excalibur
A sentence I never thought I’d have to say.
I will NEVER, EVER, play a game of
#DnD
with an AI/bot Dungeon Master.
The game is a backdrop for me and my friends and the table, and the DM is centerpiece.
WotC, that’s a foul.
I feel like I crushed an in person job interview I had this morning, should hear back by Friday! I already passed their online qualification test & the first phone interview. This is the furthest I’ve gotten in the process this time around.
Needed that token suit pic!

Happy Birthday to Me! Yay!
A trip around the sun & Im celebrating by going into work on my day off for a few OT hours, then a trip to the dentist, & hopefully be a lazy bum the rest of the day!
Share some of your favorite

or fantasy art with me here today? I start!
HAPPY 75TH BIRTHDAY CLYDE CALDWELL!!!
One of the most prolific fantasy artists, ever. He worked as staff on TSR from 1982 to ‘92, and produced more iconic works than most folks realize.
Also, he’s pretty cool! Clyde Caldwell 🧵! Share your favorite work of his here!

Dang!
I just wanted to talk D&D with new folks. I now remember why I left FB in the first place.
We don’t do politics. But we will judge your politics.
I just wanna talk games. 🤷♂️
It’s a

Half Price JACKPOT! The complete Chronicles in the sleeve are my originals.
But today, I found these 1st printings of Autumn Twilight and Winter Night for SEVEN BUCKS!!!!
What a steal!
Got a job!
Finally!!!
Not going into specifics yet, til I figure out their Social Media policy.
But I confirmed I can start Monday. Got some of my onboarding paperwork already, should have the official offer letter soon!
Thanks for all the support friends!!!!
A mere 39 years ago in 1985,
@WeisMargaret
&
@trhickman
gave us the 2nd installment of the
#Dragonlance
Chronicles.
And Larry Elmore’s painting for Dragons of Winter Night grabbed us right in the aisle of Waldenbooks and trapped us in Krynn yet again…
Late Night Clyde Caldwell’s beautiful, scantily clad Elf maiden casts a mysterious spell in the lush depths of a secluded forest. Her long, copper colored hair flows in the breeze as the glowing jewel in her staff pulses with seductive Elven energy. Behold the power of her Magic!
So I did a thing, I’m kind of proud of.
I can’t take all the credit. My faith, fellowship of friends, and 12 step program worked for me.
But I did not get it the first time. Took a few tries. Keep on keeping on.
15 years sober from alcohol last week. Best self care I ever did
“Guards!”
“Knights!”
“Squires!”
“Prepare for Battle!”
Then they ride off to the tune of “O Fortuna”. I get chills every time .
What was your favorite scene from
#Excalibur
(1981) ?
Keith Parkinson’s “The Last Spell of Fistandantilus”
See that rope behind Fistandantilus?
Parkinson loved the movie Sinbad. The emperor kept his soul at the top of a tower accessible only by a huge rope. He thought it appropriate in portraying this lair of the evil mage.

In light of recent events, here is Keith Parkinson showing you what Draconians are supposed to look like, in this piece he titled,
“What do you mean we’re lost?”

Valerie Valusek told me this took her FIVE MONTHS!
Waterdeep from AD&D 1st City System book in 1988 is🔥 🔥 🔥!!!
It was EIGHT FULL PAGES. I have them here photoshopped together. View this as large as you can, the detail down to the houses is off the charts good!

Keith’s thoughts on this classic, The Flying Citadel.
“This was one of the first paintings I did for the
#Dragonlance
project. In essence, it’s the fantasy equivalent of the Star Wars “Death Star”. I wanted to paint something that looked unstoppable, massive and ominous. 1/3
If you’re a fan of this art from the” Record of the Lodoss War” (1988), you can thank the influence of Late Night Clyde Caldwell’s ‘Dragons of Triumph (1984)”

painting.
RIP Jim Ward 🙏
Your contribution to the hobby we enjoy so much was priceless. Reading through this gem of yours that you wrote, in honor for your.
Rest now soldier, your watch has ended.

After being hypnotized by the
#Dragonlance
Chronicles, in February of 1986 we were introduced the Legends Trilogy, Volume 1 Time of the Twins.
Crysania, Astinus, Raistlin, and the Tower of High Sorcery in Palanthas, what a rush!
Larry Elmore setting the tone right away…
Taking a moment to be a proud dad.
My son is autistic & although we read to him daily, he’s always quiet but follows along intently.
However this week his 1st grade teacher sent us this vid. We had NO IDEA he could read, and read so well!
*insert proud dad face*
If you’re more of a traditionalist, maybe you prefer your Takhisis this way 🐉
One of my absolute favorite Dragonlance pieces of all time!
Dragons of Triumph by Late Night Clyde Caldwell
Christmas…1984
We had no idea what was coming, and how much our fantasy landscape was about to change.

Dragons of Autumn Twilight has just been released. And thus the saga began…
Merry Christmas friends!

AHHHHHH!!!!!
From my friend
@JoeManganiello
himself…he talks here about the progress on his
#DnD
documentary, but just happens to let us know about A LIVE ACTION DRAGONLANCE SHOW in the works!!!!!
Yes!!!!
#DnD
#Dragonlance
The artist of this piece, Valerie Valusek, told me this particular work was inspired by the stop motion skeletons of Ray Harryhausen.
They are perfect.

Heard someone ask if undead were tougher in AD&D 😳
Oh sweet child
When you encountered a Wight it was really NO JOKE! One hit, and you LOSE A LEVEL and all bonuses gained with it.
Fight that Specter? Get hit, and lose TWO LEVELS! TWO!!
NO SAVE in case either. NO SAVE!
#DnD
For those of you that were following my job search adventure, I just got an official offer letter from the first job on my list that I interviewed for in MARCH!
Had no idea their process took so long, but I could not be happier! Signed and will be joining them next month!

. Need I say more? I’ll take the silence as a yes. This was done during my “paint a billion objects in the foreground” period. Painting that amount of anything takes a lot of time. 1/3

Happy 50th Birthday Dungeons and Dragons!
To celebrate, I brought out my complete original D&D set (6th Printing), my original dice, all of the supplements plus my copies of Chainmail!
Let’s see some

collection pics! All years/editions welcome!

@Wizards_DnD
So, I tried to be receptive. But, no.
You claim you need to deauthorize OGL 1.0a so you can add your new ‘protective’ clause.
It’s not protective. What it does do is give you the sole right to decide what gets to be published based on arbitrary ideas.
I know many of you have seen this Keith Parkinson
#DnD
art before.
Doesn’t seem extraordinary or unsettling, right?
What if I told you the name of this painting is “And Then There We’re Three…”
Absolutely love Keith’s art and attention to detail….
I went to the
@GaryCon
charity auction with
@JoeManganiello
.
I think I blacked out. Something crazy happened. Next thing I knew I was the winning bidder on this original TSR 1984
#DRAGONLANCE
POSTER!!!!
It’s like they knew I was coming 😂
I was pretty confused about this my first time playing 5E. I went from 2E to 5E, and this one floored me.
This, and the fact that there were no undead that could drain levels anymore 🤷♂️.

There is good art, great art, mesmerizing art…and then there is Keith Parkinson
Almost all of Lankhmar’s citizens cower in their homes.
Tonight the streets and alleys of Lankhmar belong to the ancient gods – this is the Night of Fear.
Whose life will be lost this night?

Quite possibly my favorite painting.
“Dragons of Triumph” by Late Night Clyde Caldwell.
Here, The Queen of Darkness holds Laurana captive in the dark temple of Neraka.
Lord Loren Soth thru the years, a
#Dragonlance
snapshot.
In 1985 Larry Elmore drew the very first image of Lord Soth for the AD&D module DL8 Dragons of War. That was the only picture of him we’d see until Parkinson’s 1986 “Lord Soth’s Charge”.
