The Netflix show “Diagnosis” is based off a NYT column, written by one of Yale physicians, Dr. Lisa Sanders. The show “House” was inspired from this series and modeled after Yale-New Haven Hospital. Here’s a still shot of Dr. Sanders and Tu (former res and current fellow)!
The man, the myth, the legend - Dr. Balaji Rao! He is one of our favorite attendings to work with in emergency radiology. He can read in a blistering speed with accuracy all while walking laps around the hospital between studies. Always a pleasure being on call with you, Dr. Rao!
Taking care of business! All star group of ladies handling consults on a busy week. All our residents have the chance to rotate through
@Yale_IR
and provide the finest care for our patients.
It’s been another fantastic year at
@YaleRadiology
. See you all next year!😉
The (virtual) interview season is upon us! We are saddened that our interviewees will not be able to visit this year. Yale Radiology and Biomedical Imaging and New Haven, CT have features best seen and experienced in person.

(1/2) Congratulations to our very own Arman for placing 1st in all four events at La Classique du Québec!
There are interesting hobbies among the residency cohort, and
@ArmanEAvesta
is definitely one of them!
Farewell R4 graduation dinner!
Thanks to everyone that came to celebrate in unity. Already feeling nostalgic, reminiscing of how fast the past four years went.
Next up, fellowships!
It is a team effort to run a successful radiology residency and having great senior chiefs certainly help! Thank you for all your hard work, making sure things are running smoothly on a daily basis 😌

Great meeting up with our class in one of many fine New Haven restaurants! We are already planning for our next APD dinner. Hard to fathom it has been almost four years since residency inception!
Peep our R1 APD dinner 👀

What makes a weekend call a little better? Having your co-resident/IR-1
@anne_sailer
moonlight to help IR-1 Patrick with calls, protocoling etc. In-person is optional on weekends but Anne decided to come hangout and bring takeout on the way!

Dusty roads, vast fields, and majestic creatures.
This past weekend, the
@Road2IR
crew went on their safari expedition - exploring the mythical plains of Serengeti and Ngorongoro Crater. It was a privilege to be able to visit these creatures in their natural habitats!
(1/3) Hi everyone!
This is
@benjaminjangmd
, the graduating chief
#radres
. Last night was my final day as
@yaleradres
, and also my farewell to all our followers.
One the more iconic spots at the Yale-New Haven Hospital, the Atrium. A common area shielded by a large glass dome, you can peer into the neighboring pavilions while taking in a flood of natural light ☀️ ☀️☀️
Yesterday was the winter solstice, the official start of winter in the Northern Hemisphere - and the shortest day of the year. In other words, we have longer days to look forward to from here on out!
Happy holidays, everyone!
@SZRahmanMD
(1/2) A recap of last Friday of our

(1/3) A familiar workflow.
We start our days with the Tanzanian IR residents running the case list of the day. The visiting attendings will share their thoughts for each case, discussing the diagnosis, approach to treatment etc.
Fall is around the corner and there is a hint of chill in the morning air 🍂🍁
Our R1s are getting familiar with their ED calls - under the guidance of their senior residents and attendings.
Shout out to our ⭐️ R1 Callie for tackling her ED call!
Hey

It is incredible to reflect on how much you learned over a period of a year.
#tbt
(1/2) Grateful for the new initiative set by none other than
@thehowie
- career discussion dinners!
As
@yaleradres
, we are blessed to be around knowledgeable, influential, and all around fun individuals - like Dr. Howard Forman!
Shout out to these wonderful doctors, former Yale

Happy Thanksgiving! In the spirit of the holiday, we want to show what we are thankful for, like our Residents! As the first one of our series, we want to introduce Dr.
@farnaz_najmi
(R2)! She enjoys biking, skiing, and dancing. She loves New Haven pizza and plans on neurorad!
One of our outstanding attendings include Dr. Mahan Mathur, a formal Yale
#radres

Meet

*Post lecture selfie*
Sometimes we step out of the reading rooms to show what radiology is about!
Our residents have opportunities to be educators, providing lectures to our students. Today, we covered basic genitourinary anatomy and pathologies on imagining!
Come take a ride through the Yale Campus!
The Harkness Tower contains Yale Memorial Carillon, which is played twice per day: at noon and in the evening. Yalies refer to the daily performance as "Heavy Metal"!
Some of best learning happens between a senior and a junior.
Having being in their spot, they understand the common issues we all face as an early trainee.
Radiology has a steep learning curve, but it’s all made possible with team work and a helping hand.
(1/3) One of many great opportunities at
@yale
as
#radres
include international outreach opportunity. Our
@yale_ir
section drives
@road2ir
program, dedicated to bringing interventional radiology service to Tanzania, Africa. Last year, our former residents Long and Yarisma went!
Hope everyone had a wonderful Thanksgiving!
It is time to take our show on the road…to Chicago! Look forward to meeting up with everyone and happy
@RSNA
week!
Stay tuned 😃
@DelaramShakoor
It’s ~spooky season~ in pediatric radiology 🎃 👻
We are getting a little festive, sharing the holiday spirit with our coworkers and patients!
Happy Halloween!
Congrats to our new R1s finishing their first block of radiology! 🎉🎉🎉 Radiology has a steep learning curve and vastly different from intern year, but you all will get the hang of it in no time! See you all tonight! 🎊🍻🍾
The golden hour at the Stappa Vineyards!
Fun times hanging with your friends and enjoying the start of New England fall.
Happy Humpday, Everyone!
(1/2) Dr. Burrell! The chief of gastrointestinal radiology and our favorite grandfather figure in the department. You can find him going over esophagram findings with patients or using his PACS magnifying tool to confirm an urinary stone. Yeah
The 📸 can strike anytime but
@anne_sailer
is always camera ready 😎
@RSNA
week is coming up! We look forward to seeing all the new research and advancements in radiology. Also, we are excited to reconnect with those attending in person!
Have a great day!
