This week’s special mention in 6B Woodies went to our superstar Miley! Miley is a kind and hardworking pupil in 6B Woodies and is always helping around the classroom - what would we do without her?! Well done Miley! ⭐️
Some goals accomplished included: facing fears, getting through SATs, hitting targets in attainment, going to London, getting off behaviour points cards, building confidence and overcoming anxiety. What an incredibly driven class to have aimed so high! Proud! 🤜🏽

Year 6 are learning all about the cardiovascular system in Science this week for our unit ‘Animals including Humans.’ Here they are measuring how their heart rate changes with low, moderate and high intensity exercise and observing the impact of this on our body!

Freddie Fridays in 6 Catkins ensured that all of the children were responsible for keeping the floor tidy so there were no potential Freddie choking hazards. After some morning strokes, Freddie settled in and ensured the children remained focused with the learning.
Year 6 are learning all about transition to secondary school in PSHE, including subjects, reading timetables and organising themselves with planners. Here they are practising writing an excellent planner for a typical week!

Mr Cole and Miss Ashbrook are so proud of 6 Oakies. They have absolutely smashed their SATs tests and have proved what stars they are - these tests certainly don’t measure what incredible personalities they have!
Year 6 have been learning all about BIG data in computing and how RFID (Radio Frequency Identification) can be used in various places. They also created spreadsheets today on GoogleSheets to create and analyse data related to theme parks and wait times on rides

Due to the weather not being on our side, 6HC Oakies weren’t able to cash in their class reward points last half term for their chosen treat “a trip to Oaky Park”! We grabbed a window today to make sure that they got their well earned reward! 🛝🏞

6 Woodies’ science week continued. What a day we have had! An absolute wealth of knowledge discovered and a dive into etymology too. Who knew the T-Rex took its name from the word, ‘tyranny’, to mean a cruel and oppressive ruler? Fascinating!
What an afternoon! 18 Year 6 children competed at Priestley College against 6 other Warrington schools in the Indoor Athletics tournament. All children worked their socks off and were rewarded with.....
A GOLD MEDAL for coming first! We now progress to the Warrington finals!
Here’s the winning team, who acted out their freeze frame in a realistic and dramatic way! I don’t know about you, but I wouldn’t like to meet them in a battle!
Year 6 ( including Mrs Barrow’s year 6 children) are learning how to use Swift Playgrounds with Miss Leach, Apple’s coding and programming app, every Friday afternoon! Today, we are moving on to ‘functions’ - I wonder if our coding superstars can master this too?!
