Kenji spoke on this before. The reason his model is white is because nobody he talked to knew how to draw dark skin/textured hair. Not to mention how a chunk of us used white personas to avoid blatant racism. I did the same bc as a kid I was told to kms when using a black avatar.

Now, Sayu involved herself (again) in this Kenji drama by making it about her, so he fired back at her. Not bc of a double standard

@RaphDeslandes I started out being allowed 2 sheets of printer paper every other weekend and a broken nubby pencil from my brother’s pencil case!! Only after many months of drawing did my mum get me some real supplies. I started out tracing anime scenes and now can produce cool asf artwork!!

@WiesNoah @zekuski @goatgumi Sir only 16% of the world’s population is white. Meaning the odds are, less white people will be in the spiderverse. Plus having hundreds of them from each country in different dimensions makes sense, and lowers the odds bc white people aren’t the majority in most countries.

Maybe it’s because I’m chronically ill and can’t keep up with people easily, but It’s the exact opposite for me. We could go 2 years without talking and I’d still call you my friend. Because the day we do hang out, we’ll talk like no time has passed. That’s true friendship for me

@tiana_irl I saw that but tbh I’m not even mad at her bc she’s a child. It seemed less like racial ignorance as a whole and more like a kid not realizing that the joke is offensive. If it was an 18 yr old I would think diff. They need to get her out of their company so she can be a kid.
