@khamilaroman My understanding is yes — I hadn’t done as much reading into Miku’s band and actually hadn’t been aware she had a dedicated band for her shows! I liked the local musicians but again, yeah, communication was nonexistent on that change.

Just to be incredibly clear, just absolutely transparent: talking to a lawyer in no way means this is going to court. This is an opportunity to say, “Hey, here’s what’s happening, what’s our options? Is a class action suit reasonable, and if so then who’s at fault?” (2/?)

@Yamatsumi3 Yes, please do! I am unsure what protections Mexico has legally but any information I gather can be utilized by any parties in respective legal jurisdictions — Mexico and Europe — to further your own cases or at least yell VERY LOUDLY at organizers!

@shslrebel Nope! Misleading/conflicting information about merch lines (which some VIPs paid extra for priority for), VIP gifts running out, some dates (Chicago for sure) being unable to resell tickets, and issues of communication leading to one fan being harassed by security in Vancouver.

[sighs] I hope people realize “seeing miku at all is better than no miku!!!” is the same stock argument I’ve heard for years about “just be grateful you get LGBT characters!” in regards to shoddy and harmful representation in fiction. And I didn’t PAY for those!

You failed to communicate that standard was compromised, and many fans would’ve likely given grace if we’d KNOWN there would be an adjustment in scale! Instead I spent the show comparing this experience to Dashcon and the Willy Wonka Experience. That’s REALLY bad! (15/?)

I want to open with a positive — the band was incredible, and honestly they salvaged a bit of fun from this event for me. They were very skilled performers who gave a ton of energy and I felt it in the balcony. When you remove them, everything else was a PR nightmare (2/?)

An update on my whole consultation endeavor re: #MIKUEXPO2024 The firm I contacted sent a stock email response redirecting me to another firm, which is fine. I 100% expected that. I’m a writer, rejections and “try again later” messages don’t phase me. So! The plan! (1/?)

The actual setup was a mess for a variety of reasons, including light glare that made the performers hard to see on from the balcony coupled with a lack of auxiliary screens. If you’re going to do an LED screen situation, at LEAST play up what you can do with that medium! (8/?)

One thing I keep checking every time someone replies to me about the Miku situation is the age in profiles, and it's obvious Miku still appeals to a young to new adult audience, like I was when I started listening. And man, that just makes me even more frustrated with this (1/?)

A few days into week 2 of #NaNoWriMo and I'm starting to feel the slump. Still, story is progressing, and I think if I just start writing some really action-heavy scenes the words will come. I get so nervous about word count that I get stuck on scenery!

… knew fans on the ground often got tour updates before official accounts could update. I was willing to give benefit of the doubt that MAYBE we’d have the glass hologram projector instead of the TV set up. Then VIP was let in and confirmed it was a TV. Oh boy. (7/?)

I'm still very angry and upset about how that whole tour was handled, and the entire Miku Expo team has lost my good will going forward which is... heartbreaking, but man, I still don't think I've ever attended a concert so badly handled. (2/?)

Despite what I’d heard about the TV, I was still fully prepped to drop money on merch. I’d pinched pennies for a month to save up for merch. Merch is one of my favorite parts of shows, especially a show that I was unsure of when I’d see again! (5/?)

Btw just figured I’d say that @Ticketmaster is not allowing people to refund OR sell #MIKUEXPO tickets for the DC show which is lowkey stupid - concert is falsely advertised then they refuse to sell / refund tickets 🥲 This is such a disappointing experience already
