Not my king, not my Brexit. Tired of the shitification of Britain & our toxic RW media.
Good food & music, very select humans & plenty of animals and I'm happy
@LBC
Oh mate. Why oh why would Megan return to this failing island to be criticised for every single thing she does by a toxic press.
We collectively need to start ignoring the Mail. Their days of calling the shots should be over.
@LBC
@RachelSJohnson
Ah ha. So there was no phone signal with 48hrs of motorised travel, in a first world country? And American vehicles don't have adjustable seats?
Utterly transparent bullshit.
The truth is Spaffer was a useless mayor and a worse PM, with zero sense of public service.
@vitt2tsnoc
Perhaps the universe just saved you from the most over hyped event of the decade, which can consequently only disappoint then? This much fuss over some mostly average music is human cult mindset in overdrive. The price of these tix could fund a doz. better (non-TixMaster) gigs
@StuartMaconie
New political party:
Ian Hislop PM
Martin Lewis Chancellor
Chris Packham Environment
Marina Purkiss & Jemma Forte can choose between Home & Foreign Secretaries
Dale Vine Energy
Carol Vorderman Education
A man can dream
@mrjamesob
Good. Labour stand firm as progressive centre-Left government in waiting, while Red wall racists scurry off in a huff to split their votes across Reform\Reclaim etc.
@domdyer70
@Keir_Starmer
So many of the cats in rescue shelters are all but feral. If you want a family cat, especially in a busy environment such as Downing St, you need to raise it well from a kitten. Sorry, but a feral rescue is hardly a family pet in most cases.
@NoFarmsNoFoods
Yay for compacted, exhausted soil, devoid of insect life, kept productive through heavy use of agrochemicals and enormous amounts of fossil fuel. Yay for nitrate runoff, slurry spills. Yay for antibiotics resistance and factory farmed misery meat. Yay for massive sheds.
@fesshole
Cash is time consuming, expensive to bank, unhygienic to handle alongside food, requires safes, tills, extra insurance etc.
Small businesses aren't charities, they're folk trying to make a living. They're not obligated to handle cash for a declining minority who still use it.
@RHarrabin
Hundreds of billions to shave minutes off the London to Bham joinery, only to add many more minutes on to said journey with an inconvenient connection for the final leg into London. Masterful planning
@UKdemocrat
The 'mother of parliaments' has become a dysfunctional affront to democracy.
On a good day, next to no legislating is done. On a bad day, the pillars of democracy are trashed.
The ludicrously arcane processes, the booze soaked culture, the inefficiency. Simply unfit for 21stC
@BrendaPuech
@WorldBollard
B.e.a.utiful. I hope the driver is charged in full to restore the street furniture, and his insurers refuse to pay out due to gross negligence
@anon_opin
Going to a purveyor of caffeinated milkshakes, with a fatal milk allergy, seems a unnecessary gamble with mortality.
I mean, the thrill of a large oat milk latte, cannot be worth the chance of death in the event of a miscommunication with the disinterested barista, surely?
@AutoPap
Nearly 15, but looks nearly new inside & out. Full leather premium interior, 6sp manual, no touchscreens.
Would I swap for the latest version? Hell no.
@anon_opin
The 90s, full of hope, great parties, cheap and easy travel, hope that climate change would be conquered, technological leaps, a world opening up and moving in the right direction.
It's hard to say the same about the present.
@LondonEconomic
They should refuse to engage with Kuenssberg while they're at it.
Her output is little better than a license payer funded GB News nowadays
@RussInCheshire
@RishiSunak
10 lost years we've been adrift, while the government self-harm with Brexit, squabble amongst themselves, and asset strip. I'm trying to find some zen dissociation, because the anger could ruin me.
@RishiSunak
, I truly detest you
@RewildScotland
The video misses the carpet of shredded plastic bottle and drinks cans these fucking things leave behind them, with are now impossible to recycle of remove
@georgecmcgavin
I was really depressed yesterday, at the total lack of insects this year.
I'm actually missing the horseflies. June evenings, acres of organic, semi-wild habitat, yet barely a flying insect to be found. Terrifying.
@BenKentish
The vast majority of folk didn't give Judaism a second thought, until Israel started behaving so utterly appallingly in response to Oct7.
Israel has chosen to make itself a pariah nation now.
Anti-Zionism is not anti-Semitism.
@fesshole
I live in the sticks. Get excellent service from our posties, but that's the problem, we see 4 or 5 on rotation. I'd happily tip our 'regular postie' but I'm not spending £25 to tip them all and feel I'm more likely to cause offence by favouring one over another
@RevRichardColes
Except the kamikaze pilots were sacrificing themselves for their country, whilst most of the recent batches of resignation honours have sacrificed the country for themselves
@Loriagne2
@MetroUK
I've completely switch off BBC current affairs output due to the ludicrous bias. I'm a middle age centrist news junky, who 5 yrs ago would have watched or listened to BBC news throughout the day. They've completely lost me. Even Newsnight is trashed now.
@thelefty52
Being so trash, you go out rioting and 'paki bashing' (sorry, horrendous and ignorant phrase but suspect that's their game), in your pyjamas. Just wow.
@MrMatthewTodd
God is our invention. No god would spend 4.5Bn years creating a unique paradise within an infinite universe, only to have an ape mutation destroy it within a couple of centuries. Were there a god, they would intervened to remove the human mutation before it got to this point.
@jamiesmart
Formative to my teenage years. Subversive and euro-sexy late night shows on C4 so much better than the lad magazine shite of the same period for becoming a decent human being
@David__Osland
I would argue all day long with HMRC that headphones are a legit expense. Zoom meetings, online training, researching via audiobooks. Total non-story
@anon_opin
I like the idea that a midlife crisis isn't about time running out, but more the realisation that you've already used your best years focussing on the wrong things
@SteveGrant67
@CountrymansW
Don't let the door hit you on the way out.
Bloodsports are a dying pastime. The sooner they're expunged from our culture, the better.
There are many positive ways of enjoying the outdoors, building community etc. Ripping wildlife to pieces is for sick minds.
@VegetariDan_
I'm an omnivore and the McPlant is really good, 9/10 as tasty as their regular burgers, with 1/10 the climate impact and 0/10 the animal cruelty. Meat eaters should try them.
@anon_opin
A good steak is delicious, but we're fobbed off with cheap mass-produced beef which hasn't been sufficiently aged/hung. I've stopped buying it. An eco disaster that doesn't even taste that good.
@bethanyusher
I've seen both sides, 20yrs of office based, now 10 years self employed running a campsite. The mileage the last 10yrs has put on me is huge. Don't get me wrong, I'm so much happier working outdoors but it's a joke the retirement age is set by folks who've never grafted
@SwordsaintPress
@fesshole
There's a difference here. This time it doesn't come down to a single human decision. It's the baked-in consequence now of billions and billions of human decisions. The inertia, the tipping points, the longevity of the harms already done mean it's already happening
@archer_rs
Goldman Sachs also reporting Brexit has cost 5% of GDP
And yet still both our major parties continue to deny any debate or possibility of a change of direction to our collective self harming
@ProtectTheWild_
I own a smallholding in Wales with a bridleway running through it and a hunt nearby. Over my dead body would I allow a hunt to pass through my land.
@anon_opin
Living in West Wales, alternating between 20 limits and 60 limits is great. Drive considerately through towns at 20, wind the windows down, relax, Then floor it and go zoomies till the next town.
@anon_opin
The genie can't be put back in the bottle. Spend hours trying to obtain a "that'll have to do" option from the high street, or spend a few minutes to select your choice of thousands of options online?
@incunabula
Sounds fabulous. 5 bottles of wine with lunch, at a rural restaurant you can only really drive to, is an interesting offer in these more sober times though!!!
I wouldn't be too surprised to find the gendarmes making some good revenue from the tourists a km up the road afterwards
@simonharris_mbd
Block them. They feed on controversy and the ire of the left. Deny them their oxygen. As for Kelvin, what a abhorrent excuse he is. Retired and rich from a career spewing bile and he gets worse on his personal time.
@fesshole
Had a small, simple eyebrow ring for a couple of years in my late teens. I'm now min-40s and the holes are still there.
Good luck to those who briefly thought stretched ear lobes was a good idea
@dave43law
I'm 45 without kids so it's easy to judge when your hat's not in the ring but -
It wasn't 'weeks on end', it was less than a fortnight
- he'd have a mobile and debit card, wouldn't be carrying a money belt of cash
- he was with a friend.
Seriously, what a storm in a teacup.
@MrMatthewTodd
I'm 45 this month and I my short lifetime, I've seen our planet devastated. Relative abundance of wildlife and stable climate of childhood is a memory. I was taught about 'the greenhouse effect' in school, it was a hot topic then, yet we've squandered 35 yrs now and it's too late
@anon_opin
I'm gutted the Mail Group acquired the i. That was a really decent, reasonably objective paper and the shorter format was much more digestible for my ruined concentration span, but I'll never give the Mail Group a penny so that's the end of print newspapers for me
@MittenDAmour
Blur have (AFAIK) gone on to more interesting post-Brirpop careers, while the Gallaghers remain a pair of agro Mancs stuck in the 90s.
Best thing the members of Blur could do is entirely ignore this.
(Showing my hand on the Blur/Oasis question!)
@IrishRainforest
I'm in West Wales, but the weekly livestock market is a sorry sight on sheep days. Knackered old men, driving knackered old vehicles, clearly barely keeping going. The Pembrokeshire national park is mostly grazed to death. The lamb in the shops is often from NZ. Madness.
@Jacob_Rees_Mogg
Brexit is over, your shambolic destructive government is over, the majority of the public have had enough of the lies and corruption. You'll remain rich whatever happens, so if you have a grain of decency in you, stop trying to wreak further harms in the time you have left.
@SimonClarkeMP
You could replace Sunak with a resurrected hybrid of Thatcher and Churchill at this point and you'll still lose the GE. The extent to which you're detested by vast swathes of the country now hasn't fully penetrated, but a change of leader will not fix the damage already done
@JonW_67
Apparently she gets 16 knights as part of this nonsense. protecting the establishment, reinforcing class divide, pissing money up the castle wall. Nonsense from start to finish
@anon_opin
I've started buying the fancy ones. Not a boast, it's just I'd rather have 1 good orange than 5 shit ones that end up in the compost bin for the same money.
The fruit we accept in the UK is just awful.
@fesshole
Self employed now, but there were 2 unis in the town I studied, 1 very good,, 1 persistently at the very bottom of the league tables. I studied at the latter, but left my CV ambiguous and always let employers assume it was the former. Never got caught.
@_JoelAshton
💯 I used to pull it on my land (27 acre smallholding, 1/4 campsite, 3/4 rewilding) due to pressure from the local horsey brigade, but let it flourish now. The horse set can do one, biodiversity is more important

This is going to be an awkward spin for the Israeli PR machine. A march of Jews, freely walking the streets, protesting against the genocide 👏👏👏
