Copywriting is oversaturated.
Which is a good thing.
Because the market needs copywriters.
SKILLED copywriters.
If the market isn't full of us already then there is a reason for that.
Think about it...

Time to celebrate 200 followers!
My real achievement though?
I didn't miss a single day.
Perfect attendance.
And that's what's going to compound.
Road to 1000.
You aren't analyzing copy daily?
Good luck.
Copywriting is the output.
And analyzing copy is the input.
Both are non negotiable.
I would even go so far to say that you should analyze 80%.
And actually write for only 20%.
Watching videos won't make you a better copywriter.
They might build some sort of a foundation.
But that's it.
It won't get you far in the game.
What will get you far?
Read, research, and write.
'Watching' is a waste of time.
90% of people have no clue about marketing.
Which is fine.
Because that's why we marketers are here right?
You don't need to worry about 'saturation'.
You only need to worry about your SKILLS.
Because in the end there are more good clients than service providers out there.
The most money is made with upsells.
Selling to already existing customers.
And not just money in through acquiring new customers.
That's the
#1
difference between 4 figure brands and 6+ figure brands.
Curiosity is KEY.
Curious to learn more and test things out.
It's even more important if you're in marketing.
Because marketing is 80% about research.
And for that you have to be curious.
The whole point of direct response copy is to force a direct response.
But what does it mean?
- Use urgency + scarcity
- Use unique mechanisms
- Follow up until you get blocked
Just to touch it briefly.
The rabbit hole goes deep.
It's crazy.
Copywriting is EVERYWHERE.
Everywhere you look.
Even if you don't want to be a copywriter...
You should still at least learn the basics of it.
I'm not even a native speaker.
And my grammar is never 100% perfect.
But that's actually a BENEFIT.
Because it makes my writing simpler.
You don't need to have good grades in your english class.
Nothing to do with copywriting.
1st Law of Wolf Marketing:
Never lie in your marketing.
Be honest and upfront.
Never use fake scarcity.
Never create fake testimonials.
Guard your reputation like nothing else.
No book or course teached me more than analyzing top player copy first hand.
Read and UNDERSTAND good copy to write good copy yourself.
I don't make the rules.
A common mistake I see marketers make:
Selling high ticket the same way as their low tickets.
This is not how it works.
You need A LOT more trust for high ticket.
Completely different game.
The rich want to save time.
The poor want to get rich.
The depressed want to be happy.
What problem is your offer actually solving?
Circle your marketing around that.
Sounds obvious.
But I still see so many bigger brands doing it WRONG.
At some days I HATE to it to write.
But I still do it.
And once I'm in the process I actually start enjoying it.
Don't think about doing everything.
You just have to get the ball rolling.
Most 'marketers' start marketing without even knowing the market.
Who is your ICP?
What are their problems?
What is the solution?
What emotions do they feel?
Dig deep.
Understand the market.
Then start 'marketing'.
Copywriting isn't a rich quick thing.
The Real World might promises something else.
But it's misleading.
To make it with copywriting it takes YEARS.
Not months.
So...
Also think in years.
You sell on emotion but you justify the purchase with logic.
And the single best way how you justify it with logic...
Is through proof of concept.
Make the ROI clear and valuable.
Light-work.
You aren't here to friendzone your email list.
You're here to sell to them.
Of course leading with value is important.
But know when enough is enough.
Don't over nurture.
The best in the game are the best in the game because they stayed long in the game.
It's never talent.
They sucked in the beginning.
Probably more than you.
They were just stupid enough to keep going.
And you should too!
A good writer isn't necessarily a good copywriter.
Your copywriting skill level is correlated to how much money you make.
It's not about how well you write.
100+ followers in a single day.
That's how quickly things can go.
From the outside it looks like a 'lucky punch'.
But we all know it takes many missed punches to actually get there.
Everytime before I start writing copy...
I note down what my GOAL with it is.
I'm always intentional.
Because:
No intention = Empty copy
Empty copy doesn't generate sales.
Templates are nothing more than guidelines.
They WORK.
But only if you use them with your brain.
Understand the principles behind it.
Then adapt it to your matter.
Copywriting doesn't mean you should copy-paste everything.
Make use of big names in your copy to strengthen your argument.
'As David Ogilcy once said...'
'Iman Gadzhi did this back then as well...'
Works wonders for really any niche.
Try it out.
The curse of knowing marketing?
You can't watch anything normally.
No matter what you consume...
You always subconsciously reverse-engineer the whole process.
Analyzing what principles they used and how they monetized.
Or is this just me?
I don't get it.
Brands are generating thousands of views daily.
But what are they doing with them?
Literally nothing.
Create a lead magnet.
Funnel into a community/newsletter.
And turn on that money printing machine.
Short timeframe = More sales
The
#1
word people like isn't FREE.
It's FAST.
Especially these days...
Optimize your offer for the fastest possible results.
The most important thing when writing copy isn't the 'techniques'.
It's that you're in a FLOW STATE.
That's why working in a public space makes no sense.
You'll never write good copy with all the noise distracting you.
Find a quiet place.
And immerse yourself into it.
Copywriting = Spiking emotions
The RIGHT emotions for your audience...
If you know what makes them act.
You just have to use it to get the money.
Don't think it's all about "how good you write".
I know I don't have a client YET.
Everyone tells me I shouldn't be too choosy.
But why?
I value my time and energy more than anything else.
Most marketers I see around here are just 'outsource material'.
I don't want that.
I want to play a decisive role in their business.
Too saturated?
NO
Just lack of confidence in your abilities.
Remember:
There are more good clients out there than service providers.
Nothing is saturated.
The whole point of copywriting is writing long forms.
Copy where you sit HOURS writing.
And not just pulling up the doc and writing an email in 10 minutes.
That's not it.
You won't ever become better at real copywriting with this.
Stay true to your intentions.
If you say you'll send 7 emails a week, also act through it.
People will never buy from someone who doesn't stick to his word.
If you want to get better fast...
Then you have to be addicted.
Addicted to learning and practicing.
Everytime I read copy I try to find flaws.
Everytime I write copy I try to make it better than before.
You can't take it lighthearted.
I tried.
And failed.
Make them agree.
Add questions into your copy to force a 'yes' in their mind.
A yes primes the human brain positively.
Meaning - it's easier to make them take action.
Common principle in sales.
But underrated in copy.
The 'long form copy' standart is shamefully low.
Tweets are seen as 'long form copy'.
"I write one long form a day"
If it's done in less than 3h it isn't a long form.
Write whole advertorials.
THEN we can talk about you writing 'long forms'.
Tweets Don't Count.
Being coachable is a must.
I wasn't always like that.
Looking for help...
But never accepting or implementing anything.
Making excuses over excuses.
Sometimes the fastest way to progress is to put your head down...
And LISTEN.
Coaches with an audience have it easy.
They just have to 1) fill a newsletter 2) pitch free calls and 3) upsell the leads.
Coaches with 10k+ followers NOT making $10k/m need help.
My old 9-5 was located in the worst area of Sydney.
Not a single day passed without a crime.
Same goes for the store I was working at.
Junkies messing with the police until blood flowed all over the place.
THIS is why I'm doing this here.
To never go back to such a place.
Drake vs Kendrick
There are 2 sides right now:
1) Those who obsess over it
2) Those who hate and 'don't care'
But there is also 3)...
Those who make USE of it.
I saw so many viral posts on it lately.
And even emails SELLING circled around that topic.
Levels to the game.
There are two steps when writing copy:
1. Writing copy
2. Editing copy
The key?
Never mix them together.
Write in one block.
And then edit in one block.
Struggling to convert with your emails?
Then stop SELLING in them.
At least stop it with your product.
Sell the click instead.
The click to the sales page.
Because that's what emails are actually for.
Top players are making $50k+ with one email.
That's more than the average person makes in a YEAR.
And you still think you don't have to build a newsletter if you're selling info?
Foolish.
3 things you have to achieve with your copy:
1) Make sure your readers are aware of their problem
2) Shift their beliefs
3) Let them know about your solution and HOW it'll help them
Simple, isn't it?
Overlooked aspect in marketing:
Retaining customers.
Making them buy once is all good and everything.
But are they coming back?
Are they bringing in consistent cashflow into your business?
If you only rely on acquiring NEW customers...
Then freedom will never be achieved.
30 minutes to analyze copy.
30 minutes to write copy.
1h in total.
Do it for 90 days and you'll be better than 99%.
EVEN if you have a 9-5/school.
'No time' is not an excuse here.
I'm working night shifts but still have time to practice.
I've been reading the same newsletters for months now.
And I read the exact same emails multiple times.
Literally copy pasted with a slightly different pitch.
But they still generate $1000s.
Power of repurposing.
Copywriting is oversaturated...
Which is a good thing.
Because the market needs copywriters.
SKILLED copywriters.
If the market isn't full of us already it's simply not profitable.
Think about it!
Want to guarantee a click?
Repeat your CTA multiple times.
And in between you feed them with more details + proof.
Don't just pitch once and hope to get them to the checkout page.
How can you expect to become a good copywriter...
If you aren't reading copy daily?
How can you expect to become a good storyteller...
If you aren't reading stories daily?
Your input = Your output
Never forget this.
A unique mechanism is the only way to stand out.
It's responsible for EVERY huge business success you come across.
If you don't have that 'little something' in your marketing...
And you're like everyone else...
You won't make it far.
Master CTAs.
If you make them click - half of the job is done.
And the key isn't using some 'magical words'.
The key is to make it flow.
From copy into CTA.
SMOOTH!
If you want to be one of the top players...
Then you have to learn how to acquire new customers profitably.
In other words:
Cold traffic funnels.
To go deeper:
Advertorials.
