Thursday 1st March: School Closure
I am sorry to confirm that Wilmslow High School will be closed today. We are unable to clear the school site of ice in time to make it safe for staff and students and a number of staff are unable to get into school. Updates to follow.
Year 7 form groups finished this term today by singing the 12 Days of Christmas, accompanied by members of staff and form tutors...a lovely way to start the holiday.

It was great to meet our Year 7 students yesterday (they were fantastic 👏) for their Induction Day and we are really looking forward to welcoming back all year groups next week (Years 7, 9, 11 and 13 on Monday).
Over 100 Year 10 history students are currently spending 4 days away on the Battlefields tour. Today they visited the trenches at the Passchendaele Memorial Museum.
Musical Theatre Showcase…wow! What a show! The two standing ovations said it all. Two brilliant nights and a lovely closing speech from Y13 Amelia McLaughlin referring to the cast as a ‘family’ and thanking the staff involved for all of their hard work

Well done to Year 12 and Year 13 Duke of Edinburgh students - a big walking day on Friday for all groups, but they were all fantastic, enjoyed the magnificent views and coped really well with a cold night…the extra layers were really useful!
120 students from Years 10 and 11 set off on their DofE practice expedition on Friday, walking in Edale. They enjoyed some glorious weather on Saturday and arrived safely at camp ready for a well earned rest. Thank you to all the staff who volunteered their time to help 👏

Over the past 18 months, Wilmslow High School students have been working with community group 'Wilmslow Youth' to redesign and refurbish the old scout hall underneath the URC Church on Chapel Lane into a modern youth cafe. It’s now finished, looking fantastic and opening soon:

A group of Year 8 sports leaders have been part of a project called Active Across Ages, spending active time with elderly residents from the Hawthorns Care Home in Wilmslow. On Friday they ran a cake sale to raise money to buy the residents a boccia set...they raised £114! 👏
Wilmslow High School U13 boys indoor cricket team are Cheshire Champions! The boys will now go on to represent Cheshire at Old Trafford in the regional tournament in the summer
