So 'Suffragetto' was a c.1908 board game. Two 'teams' - the suffragettes had to break through police lines and enter the House of Commons. The police had to stop the suffragettes getting to the Albert Hall. Wowzers. Only known surviving copy in

There were some lovely comments about this strategy at the fab

conference. This is a 'clean' version of the CREPT Analysis idea I showed - you could drop all sorts of different sources or interpretations in there

Period 3. Year 11 student walked in and looked at the date on the board and said "Ooh, it's 11am - that shield wall would still be holding firm at this point, eh Sir?". I was like a proud father!!!

Having the 'Big Picture' on one of my boards every lesson when teaching the Health thematic has helped me sooooo much! Names from the spec, the different eras and events etc. I (and the students) reference it ALL the time

An oldie, but a goldie! Don't know why, but I'd stopped using "Find someone who" as a starter! Just created this and will use it with my Year 10s next week. Going to create a Medieval Medicine one now....

Personalised hand gel seemed like a fab idea...until I accidentally squeezed it down my shirt in front of Year 11, Period 1.
No one likes to hear "Sir, you're leaking" 🙄🤦♂️
My

students responded really well to this today. I took the names from the

Health spec - and made the students do something with those names relating to change, developments, discoveries, factors etc.

This went down better than expected! My bored daughters made bandanas for dogs out of spare material. They attached them to our fence and invited local dog walkers to take one or two for free. Now the local paper wants a pic! They're so excited 😆

I'm a bit of a coin geek - I use them lots in my books. But I didn't know that, on coins, each new monarch faces the opposite direction to their predecessor! Except Edward VIII, who broke convention and faced the same way as his dad! Who knew? Fave Friday fact

Daughter: What's that?
Me: It's a telephone chair
Daughter: What on earth is that?
Me: A special chair that you used to sit on to talk on the phone
Daughter: You're winding me up right! Was that REALLY a thing?
Students in my class actually gasped when I pulled out a genuine Weimar Germany one million mark banknote from August 1923. It has to be my favourite History prop! It never fails!! What other 'go-to' artefacts do people have/use??
