Cypress Bay HS is currently on a CodeRed lock down out of precaution. Falcon Cove and Manatee Bay Elementary are on Code Yellow. BSO will be checking the High School due to a text and email threat. Extra BSO deputies will be at school along with the Threat Assessment Unit
Attached is the BSO Media Release of the arrest of Cypress Bay student making threats. The third teen referred to was arrested in Lauderdale Lakes for an incident in that city.

BSO dispatch received a phone threat against Cypress Bay High School that appears to be swatting (pranking); BSO and Fire Rescue is on scene at the High School investigating.
For rightfully concerned parents: there was an emailed and text threat. The police have to take it seriously. They currently see no danger at the school but will search it COMPLETELY.

Falcon Cove Middle School is currently on lockdown due to a student to student threat.

5/31/2020-Broward County has declared a local state of emergency and ordered a general curfew from 9pm to 6am to protect the health, safety and welfare of the people of Broward County.
To recap: BSO received a PHONE THREAT that is believed to be a prank, but out of complete caution, is searching Cypress Bay High School to ensure safety of all students and employees.
Cypress Bay and Falcon Cove are on Code Yellow. BSO is searching the entire Cypress campus and have paused traffic around the school. The Threat Assessment Unit will conduct a full investigation. They advise it is too soon to determine if it is indeed a prank or swatting call.
BSO Units are on scene at the Publix at Indian Trace & Saddle Club due to a bomb threat. The area has been evacuated and searched. Nothing found. Heavy police 👮♀️ presence. Will reopen soon.

UPDATE: Cypress Bay is still on Code Red. Falcon Cove is on Code Red only due to their proximity to the threat area. Everglades & Manatee Bay are on Code YELLOW.
Please be patient. These are all for the safety of students and staff and so law enforcement can do their job.
Cypress Bay Parents: BSO urges you NOT to come to the school. A command post is set up & traffic is paused in the area. A staging area for parents is at the Library but no students can leave and no parents can enter. The campus is being searched in its entirety.
Update Cypress Bay: Code Yellow has been lifted and students are being released from Cypress Bay, parents are allowed to pick them up. Buses will not arrive until 2:45PM. Students may eat in the cafeteria. Bus rider may be picked up early.

- Division of Forestry advises smoke is coming from Palm Beach 30 miles north of the Broward County line. No active fires in Broward at this time.
Cypress Bay just put out a message: Cypress Bay High School on a Code Yellow as a precaution. No threat is imminent and the Code Yellow should be lifted in the near future. Dismissal instructions will be issued soon.
Missing Juvenile FINAL UPDATE: On September 6, we alerted the public to a missing juvenile from the San Messina area. The child was found safe later that night. Prior posts have been removed to protect their identity.

Miss, you have a loud voice on social media yet the Chief of Police has an open door policy. Seeing a student detained does not mean they were arrested. They were Not arrested, not charged, period. We attempt to keep false rumors from spreading and need everyone’s help.
BSO Press Conference, 4PM @ BSO Public Safety Bldg. Sheriff Tony, members of the BSO Weston District and BSO’s Threat Management Unit detectives, will announce the arrest of subjects responsible for spray-painting antisemitic & racist messages in the Weston Hills community.
Brush fires out west were contained overnight. There was never a threat to any structures. This morning, the Division of Forestry will do controlled burns to prevent future flare-ups. Residents may see smoke, but it will be part of the prescribed burn operation.
A heavy police presence is around Capri Lane (10X Apartments) as BSO investigates a deputy-involved shooting. There is NO threat to the public, but BSO is closing the area until the investigation is complete.

The City is requesting that Broward County review the signal at Glades and Saddle Club and any warrant studies to see if it meets the criteria for the turn arrow.
This is a teachable moment for parents to speak to children about the consequences of their actions- written threats of bodily harm with a weapon or mass shooting are a second degree felony (SS 836.10) An action that can ruin your life.

12/9/19, 11:45 a.m.: Cypress Bay High School has received additional information resulting in a protocol of limited supervised movement on campus. There is additional law enforcement on campus. The school is following the regular schedule.
Cypress Bay is under a secure status due to a dangerous item found. Everyone is safe and BSO is investigating. Additional information will be provided as it becomes available.

BSO Fire Rescue has responded to Cypress Bay HS for a small fire inside the wall of a bathroom. The fire was located & extinguished. The bldg where the fire was located was evacuated prior to arrival/no injuries.
Parents: BSO wants you to know that there are no issues, problems or concerns at this time at any schools in the City of Weston. BSO has additional resources at the schools in marked and unmarked vehicles.
BSO responded to Gator Run Elem in ref to a call from SRO that a suspicious male with a backpack jumped the fence. School was placed on lockdown and subject apprehended. The subject was very confused as to where he was/no weapons. Subj taken to hosp for eval. No further danger
BSO has concluded their investigation at Falcon Cove Middle. No weapon was found. School will begin dismissal procedures with bus riders and walkers. Parent car loop will follow with assistance from BSO to manage traffic.
BSO has not arrested any students for drugs. They are not searching for drugs they are searching for weapons. They are doing an excellent & tedious job ensuring student safety. We know this is stressful - everything at the school is under control.

The brush fires are to the east of US27 and west of the containment canal just to the west of Savanna. Multiple units from BSO Fire Rescue are working with the Division of Forestry to contain the fire. At this time the fire is not threatening any homes.
Information we hope we won't need but best to be prepared. There is a risk of isolated tornados over the next several hours, with a greater risk in Miami-Dade County. IF you are alerted to a tornado warning, move to a ground level interior room with no windows.

BSO Air Rescue landing at the baseball field at Eagle Point Elementary School to transport a victim of a fall from a residential roof that happened nearby. There is no incident at the school.
Lockdown still in place while investigation continues into report that a student overheard a student say gun they had a gun in their backpack. At this time, no weapon has been found. The students remain safe inside the school while detectives complete investigation.

City and BSO personnel are looking into reports of a loud ‘boom’ or explosion sound in the western area of the city heard from Weston Hills, Savanna and Regional Park. So far no explanation.
Curfew in effect for Broward County until 6AM. Residents are permitted to walk their pets within 250 feet of their homes, and travel to and from home to their place of employment.
