The hatred for Scherzer blows me away. He wasn’t great for us this year but the guy is getting old. That’s what happens to older athletes. How can you rip a guy for getting old and losing his stuff? His signing helped give us credibility last year. I’m perplexed.

So my Dad moved here from Italy at 13 and lived in Bronx. He became a Yankee fan but not a devout fan. In 1968 he took me to my first Met game because it was easier to get to Shea from LI than Yankee Stadium. Because of that I’m a #Mets fan. Gee thanks Dad 😳

So as I research for my “One Hit Wonders Bracket” of the 70’s and 80’s I had to eliminate Build Me Up Buttercup as it was released in 1969. But interesting stat: this is one of the most played/used 60’s songs, yet it only peaked at number 92 on Billboard...92???? Late bloomer!

If Turner came back to Mets he’d barely play more than 15 or 20 games at 3B. He’d be our primary DH and play 3B or 1B in a pinch. I’d love to have him but I can’t believe he’d be used as our primary third baseman.
