We are aware of an incident between the Engineering and Beechurst stations where a boulder struck a PRT vehicle. Emergency services are on the scene. The PRT is closed until further notice.
Guess who’s back … back again. The PRT’s back – tell a friend. 😎
This fall, our hours of operation are:
🔘 Monday to Friday: 6:30 a.m. to 10:15 p.m.
🔘 Saturday: 9:30 a.m. to 5 p.m.
🔘 Sunday: closed
Take a peek into the area where PRT vehicles are serviced. 👀
A vehicle could travel about 3,000 miles each month. Some vehicles have over 500,000 miles on them!
The PRT will reopen between Beechurst and Engineering tomorrow (2/19).
All stations will operate normally, and the PRT will run on a normal schedule (6:30 am-10:15 pm). Buses will only be available during periods of PRT downtime.
To ensure the health & safety of our community, the PRT will not be in service this fall.
Instead, we will provide several bus routes, with safety measures in place, to transport you. Details on the bus routes are still being finalized & will be communicated here when released.
It's almost time to beat Pitt! 👏
If you're going to the
@WVUhoops
game, take the PRT to Engineering, walk down the hill past the CAC, and use the pedestrian crosswalks to get to the Coliseum.
Masks are required for all passengers.
The PRT closes at 11:30 p.m. tonight (11/12).
Did you know we have a PRT control center?!
Here, we ensure vehicles are running correctly, observe PRT platform cameras, address and correct issues when the system is down, and monitor overall system operation. 👍
Face masks on the PRT are now required through Jan. 18, 2022, after TSA extended their mask requirement for all public transportation.
We expect all passengers to comply with this requirement and properly wear a mask while riding.
Thanks for doing your part!
Meet our PRT team! 👋
These employees work in PRT Central Control, and whether they oversee the daily operations of the system or work on critical vehicle maintenance, their work keeps the PRT running each and every day.

Beginning today (4/20), passengers are no longer required to wear masks while riding on the PRT or WVU buses, pending any additional guidance after a federal court ruling this week.
While our PRT and buses are now mask optional, masks are still welcome to help prevent COVID-19.
This fall, you may see PRT cars running along the tracks.
While the PRT is closed to passengers, we’ll be completing testing and maintenance to provide you with a better PRT experience when it reopens. 👍
Don't forget to use the bus routes in its place:
Step into the PRT Central Control maintenance area with us!
Here, vehicles receive regular maintenance every 3,000 miles to keep them running smoothly for the 12,000-15,000 passengers we transport every day. 🙌
On select days this semester, we'll run on extended hours for some
@WVUhoops
games. 🏀
Tomorrow (1/11), we'll be open until midnight to make sure you have a ride home after the 9 p.m. game.
Remember masks are required to ride the PRT, in accordance with federal TSA guidelines.
On Saturday (11/20), the PRT will open at 9:30 a.m. for the
@WVUfootball
game. It will continue to run 1 hour after the game ends.
Afterwards, the PRT will close and will remain closed through Nov. 28 for Thanksgiving break. Normal hours of operation will resume on Nov. 29.
Happy Monday, Mountaineers!
Our digital signs are back up and running. The PRT is back in demand mode as well, meaning vehicles will arrive to each platform depending on the demand from passengers.
Don't forget to mask up while using the PRT. Let's have a great week!
