Fan collapsed next to us this afternoon, Trippier didn’t want to take the corner & was telling the ref, as were the stewards and St John’s but ref just shook his head and waved play on 🤷♂️ fair play to Lascelles who stayed and made sure treatment was sorted while game continued
Good run out for the team today and great to be back at St James’ with a win. But highlight of the day without doubt was these younguns having the time of their life parading their trophy 👏👏👏👏
#NUFC
I watched Roy Hodgson’s pre match press conference about Newcastle, and I have just watched his post match conference including his tribute to Bobby Charlton and his comments on Tonali. The guy is a class act when you compare him to certain other premier league managers 👏👏👏👏
Imagine the great Colin Veitch playing at St. James’ and someone telling him “in over 100 years there will be a lad in this very ground waving a flag with your photo on it” I hope some of his surviving family get to see this 👏👏
@worflags
If ten Hag insists on trying to get into the refs head, it is the duty of every single Newcastle fan this afternoon to make sure the officials are “aware” every time rat boy feigns injury, leaves his foot in or is in refs ear trying to get our players booked
#NUFC
This lad came in and worked his balls off when we were in deep shit last season and always gives 100%. He knows he isn’t first choice but is always available, I would love to see him score tonight and get the recognition he deserves
I’ve watched Newcastle for nearly 60 years, the biggest compliment I can pay this side is even if they had 30 mins injury time tonight Chelsea were never going to score. Every player to a man works their balls off for the team and won’t be bullied. The Geordie Dogs of War!
#NUFC
Just finished a day of stadium tours and the
@worflags
lot were grafting away in the background 3 days before PSG arrive. No spoilers from me but the display on Wednesday is going to be top notch 👍
When Swan Hunter was threatened with closure & everyone was uncertain on their jobs. A bus pulls up and a guy walks into reception “My name is Kevin Keegan, I’ve brought the team down to cheer the lads up if that’s ok?”

This was me and my mate 49 years ago, our first visit to London on our way to Wembley. Today I take that Journey again for my 7th visit with NUFC. I’m now staying off Twitter until Tuesday. Wishing every Geordie a happy and successful weekend and safe travels
#NUFC
Only negative today was “the new 2024 football fan” seats in front of me are sold match by match.
2:55 4 adults take their seats
3:25 1 goes for the chips
3:40 they all decide to leave as it’s raining
Seats empty for the rest of the game but at least the chips stayed for the win
Left my dad at RVI for scan this morning so passing time at the ground. Amazing to see hundred of workers giving the whole stadium a paint and refurb, new lighting, new roof panels and making it a stadium fit for the supporters after years of neglect
#NUFC
Had my 80 year old dad up at the Freeman for more treatment - Consultant after further diagnosis “if your’e concerned about anything I am happy to discuss now?” Dad honestly replied “my biggest concern is why nobody has shot Mike Ashley yet”
In the days before email, twitter and slagging off players and managers became popular, I wrote to Bobby well before his knighthood, wishing him, Peter Beardsley and the team every success. A few months later I received this reply from the great Sir Bobby
I know I’m an old fart, but walking up Wembley Way seeing the whole stadium in front of you, used to add to the magic of the day. It just isn’t the same these days walking down past corporate hotels and shops with only a small part of the stadium in view.
36 years ago I had just got married & the missus was giving me grief as I wanted to host a New Years party, I wrote a daft letter to Newcastle Breweries saying if you could sponsor NUFC could you sponsor my party as my mates drink a lot - the rest was history 1-2
Well I’ve just finished another day of stadium tours at St James’ and as always I’m buzzing. The sheer joy on kids faces as they walk down the tunnel or sit at their favourite players seat in the changing rooms is what life’s all about. Gone for ever are the dark days of Ashley
@SkySportsPL
All over the story when Ashworth notified Newcastle he was leaving for Man U.
@SkySportsPL
All over the story that Ratcliffe not happy with gardening leave and taking the issue to arbitration.
@SkySportsPL
Absolute silence tonight 🤔
Skysports- The home of football 😁 Currently got 3 “experts” on talking transfers and advising viewers on which clubs players are better off going to 🤷♂️ Am I so out of touch that I haven’t got a clue who any of these “experts” are?
Virtually a full team of players out injured
The same 11 including a 17 year old playing nearly 300 minutes in the last seven days
Comfortable wins against Chelsea and Man United and robbed at PSG
Proud of every player, the flag behind Eddie tonight is perfect
#NUFC
👏👏👏👏
Hearing Newcastle also had 100M bid for Salah accepted by Liverpool and 90M bid for Bale accepted by Real Madrid but players didn’t want to come but at least Ashley & Charnley tried. And why does Bruce only stutter and mix his words up when talking about incoming players?
#NUFC
The Dutch never forget our boys anytime of the year at Oosterbeek cemetery, but they always make a special point of remembering them every Christmas. Excellent photos as always courtesy of Arjan Vrieze
We have had much bigger crowds at St James’ over the years but I still remember everyone in the ground going absolutely mental when Ned smashed that goal in, unbelievable atmosphere
#NUFC
I’m not going to knock a single player after this performance as the remaining walking wounded have been playing on fumes for the last 3 weeks, anyone knocking Trippier or any of them will be happily blocked as you haven’t got a clue about football
It’s been a difficult week as my dad was rushed into the RVI in an ambulance on Monday no visitors allowed. He’s an old miner & tough as boots. Just been to Leazes wing to leave him the papers, make sure the noise is just as loud this afternoon as he is listening for the roars!
He won’t get the plaudits tonight but for me
@LewisMiley1
did everything asked of him and more, solid and intelligent performance from a 17 year old 👏👏👏👏
Been lucky enough to be employed since I left school and always said I would retire before 60. I won’t miss work but I will miss some great mates and today I officially retired with 13 days to spare 🍺🕺
Ritchie for 15M, Merino 10M, Mitrovic 20M, then we will hear “Rafa’s been given a 50M transfer kitty” = 5M from TV rights to spend while Ashley pockets the other 100M, milks free stadium advertising & new buyer will also have to payback “loans” he gave the club. Nothing changes
Putting the result to one side today. Well done
@worflags
remembering a true black & white hero while at the same time, highlighting a major issue with today’s Premier League 👏👏👏👏
40 years ago today, I had a surprise visit from Santa with lots of New Year cheer. Look North have kindly sent me the full footage, here is just a small clip of the day King Kev spent the afternoon at my home.
Never underestimate the graft and positioning of this lad off the ball. A lot of it might not get seen by some fans and it doesn’t get highlighted enough, but he does a huge amount of covering and filling in positions for players all over the pitch as we attack.
I will remember forever the outpouring of elation and limbs when Ned Kelly smashed the ball home against Portsmouth, one of the most important goals in our clubs history. So I am not ashamed to say I was a little emotional this afternoon when I saw
@worflags
brilliant tribute👏👏
@StanCollymore
@BonnyLad1892
Shearer’s home debut for Blackburn, as a Geordie holidaying in the Lakes I decided to go. The game was sold out, I was dejected leaving the ticket office when an arm went round me and handed me a players ticket “enjoy watching your fellow Geordie” Gordon Cowans was a true gent.
To cheer myself up I've ordered brand new walking boots & socks ...walking poles and new rucksack......a thermal wooly hat and matching top of the range waterproof trousers and jacket, a new tartan thermos flask, plus..........
Sorry , I'm rambling.

Newcastle United 5 - 1 Vitoria Setubal, Inter-Cities Fairs Cup Quarter-final 1st leg held at St James Park, Newcastle. Alan Foggon, Wyn Davies,, Pop Robson celebrate 12th March 1969
2 Koreans, 4 Dutch, 4 Italians, 6 Germans, 2 Danish, 3 Irish, 2 from North Carolina and a guy from Sweden enter a club. This isn’t a joke, these were fans on the stadium tours today and shows how fast Newcastle’s global fanbase is growing.
Arsenal were battling for top 4 last season, their Amazon documentary captures perfectly how hostile St James’ can be when our fans are up for it. We all need to be our 12th man this Sunday, let’s make it uncomfortable from minute 1 to minute 95
#NUFC
@camsell59
is right, the crowd heckling at non-league is from a different era, linesman didn’t flag for Blyth offside and they scored. Bay fan shouts “Hey Lino are you Clarence the cross eyed lion?” I never thought I would hear Daktari related abuse of football officials in 2020
Lad I worked with is called Alan Shearer,
@alanshearer
back from injury for Blackburn and Sky were filming a feature “One Alan Shearer” I let them know there was actually two and the other one couldn’t score on or off the pitch. Sky then done a pre-match feature on him as well😀
Fed up seeing this absolute tosser being given attention by Newcastle fans on here. Please don’t retweet or share his videos purely designed to get our fans biting, and stop giving him the attention, oxygen and clicks he craves.
#NUFC
Doing the stadium tours again today. It really hits home how hard
@worflags
work preparing for a match day, these lads & lasses haven’t stopped all day👏👏👏👏
