The
@ElCortezLV
gives (at least) $25 match bet, $10 free play, and a free well/domestic if you show a boarding pass from ANY AIRLINE within 24 hours of landing!
There is a strange duality at the end of a Vegas trip where you’re ready to get the hell out as fast as possible yet also want to come back immediately.
Touchdown: Las Vegas
Kudos to the amazing
@SouthwestAir
crew for making my mom’s 64th birthday so memorable by singing happy birthday, making her a crown, and letting her blow out the call buttons.
I'm currently working on my most personal and vulnerable blog post ever.
I've been wanting to write it for months, but have never found the words or the confidence. I still don't have the right words, but I'm no longer letting that hold me back.
Posting this for accountability.
My final trip stats:
Starting Bankroll: $1040
Delicious meals at China Poblano: 2
Awesome concerts: 2
Average hours of sleep: 5
Ending bankroll: $820
Another great trip in the books!
I withdrew my money from sportsbooks and am going to take a break from all forms of gambling for a while.
Not sure how long it will last, but I for sure won’t be gambling on my solo cruise next weekend.
I have $500 free play on my cruise in December, so will reassess then.
Thank you all SO MUCH for following along on my trip!
It was truly an honor to be able to share such a historic trip with y’all, and I appreciate all of your messages/support/likes.
Vegas is more fun with friends, and it was amazing to be able to share it with you all.

For anyone who needs this right now: A photo of Las Vegas in all its glory, shot from the balcony of the

I can’t wait for it’s glorious return!
I spent my plane ride writing a cathartic story about the slippery slope that I’ve been going down the past year:
Not looking for sympathy, but I am of the conviction that sharing gambling losses matters, so enjoy this raw and unedited piece.
Thank you all for the support.
I was a bit apprehensive to post as so much of my content is based on gambling and I know that, for me at least, Vegas twitter is an escape from the heaviness of the world and the things that divide us since we are united in our love for Vegas.
Got back from my first cruise last week, and still can’t believe the luck I had.
Brought $700 and came home with $2075.
Not pictured: hours of fun BJ play, and fun memories.
Good news: I go to Vegas in 8 days.
Better news: it just switched from a Halloween trip to a “celebrating my new job” trip!
My gamble to quit my job with nothing lined up paid off, and I landed an awesome non-profit job focused on youth mentorship.
Checked in at the Hotel Apache desk and they had an upgrade to a suite available for $20/nt plus tax, with immediate check in available.
This was the best $46 I’ve ever spent.
The room is an icebox — perfect for sleep.
About to take an extended nap.
As always, I gave Las Vegas everything I had and left it all in Sin City.
I sure am exhausted now. Here’s to hoping for a smooth reacclimation.
Thanks for following along and being a part of my trip. It truly is an honor and pleasure to share it with you.
Thank you all so much for your outpouring of love and support.
I can’t tell you how much your kind words and encouragement mean.
It is so refreshing that all 54 replies have been supportive and kind; it just goes to show how amazing the Vegas twitter community is.
❤️❤️❤️

Thanks to my airport hit, I ended the trip +$125!
Still in bed snuggled with the cats after sleeping in.
It was a wonderful trip as always, thanks for following along.
Since sharing losses matters: I blew $560 at the local last night.
Lost $300 on 25c VP. Bumped up to 50c and ran $40 into $520. Should've cashed, but kept playing. Switched to $1 and lost it all.
Blew $160 on slots on the way out for good measure.
Chasing doesn't always work.
Home safe.
Sorry there weren’t as many tweets — I was in the moment with my friends for a lot of the trip.
I’ll do my best to write up some posts about the highlights in the coming days.
Thank you for following along and for the support — it’s an honor to share my trips.
Thanks so much for following along.
It’s an honor to share my trip with y’all and I love the friendships I’ve formed through Vegas Twitter.
Between coming home with some of my money and more importantly new friends and great memories, I’m definitely coming home a winner.
Home safe. 🏠
Thanks for following along — it was honor to share my trip with you.
Very in my feelings now, which is how you know it was a good trip. Grateful for being able to share my happy place with my mom and to have made the memories we did.
In the lyft to the airport.
I’m beat. This was one of those trips where the casinos chewed me up and spit me out.
There’s a degree of relief that I’m heading home and can’t lose much more, but there’s another part of me that’s sad to leave.
Oh Vegas.
Thank you to everyone who shared kind words and/or support throughout the trip.
It can be difficult and scary being so vulnerable with my experiences/feelings, but y’all made it worth it.
(and thanks to the very few trolls who made it easy to block them)
Just had the realization that “mirage”appears to be in the same handwriting as Wynn/Encore, which would make sense since Steve Wynn built it.
Please tell me this wasn’t obvious for anyone else.
Work is a trip today.
People are excitedly asking how Vegas was, and I can't really say "I went on full degenerate tilt and realized that I might have a gambling problem after blowing an entire take home paycheck on slots" in the office.
As I lie in bed in Pahrump, I hear the couple next door having sex and the sound of distant sirens.
My desire to pinch some pennies may have been misguided...
