To me, the worst part about the #49ers loss is how inconclusive this season feels. Philly might have still beaten them with a healthy Brock purdy(they’re really good), but I’d rather have seen that than know the outcome 3 offensive plays into the game because Purdy got hurt.

Brandon Aiyuk is currently 10th in the nfl in receiving yards with 831. - 61 targets this year (43rd in the nfl tied with Kmet) - 38 of his 43 receptions have gone for 1st downs - he’s 2nd in the nfl averaging a whopping 19.3 yard a catch. Terrific season.

Jimmy Garoppolo gets a lot of criticism. Some of it is fair, and some of it can be harsh. Given all of that, I think it’s totally fair to say outside of 1 drive vs Minnesota and 1 half vs Dallas, he’s been objectively terrible in the playoffs.

My biggest takeaways after watching the Lions/49ers film: 1. Best game Jimmy Garoppolo has played in 2 years. 2. Dee Ford was disruptive in just about every snap he played. A pass rush built around a healthy Ford and Bosa can somewhat compensate for the huge loss of Verrett.

The Purdy discourse is going to be nightmarish the next couple weeks. It’s feels like it’s hard for people to acknowledge both that he was lucky in some moments, but also made some key plays with both his legs and his arm to complete an impressive comeback.

My favorite #49ers stat from yesterday: Brock Purdy was sacked just twice. Dallas d was on top of a lot of immediately available throws in structure and was getting pressure. Purdy taking only 2 sacks to me says everything about his poise and maturity.
