UAE’s Presidential Guard is a specialized elite division of 12K troops commanded by Mike Hindmarsh, an ex-Australian spec ops officer, and those troops are trained by USMC which designates them as a counterpart to the Marines they’re also very heavily trained by the British 🇦🇪

UAE’s ground forces have ~400 French-made Leclerc MBT’s making them the 2nd biggest armored corps in GCC after KSA & those Leclerc tanks have been up-armored & upgraded & did see extensive use in UAE’s military operations in Yemen they’re the world’s most expensive tank 🇦🇪

UAE has a large AFV fleet consisting of ~650 BMP-3 from Russia & 130 Turkish-made FNSS ACV-300 and again much like the Leclerc, the BMP3’s are receiving a new upgrade to get extra armor

UAE also uses a large number of APC & various types of armored vehicles like the 700 Turkish-made Otokar APC which also comes in an AFV version they also have other APC types but in smaller numbers like they have 90 Ukrainian-made BTR-3 used by UAE Marines

UAE ground forces are honestly a vast MRAP-centric military they have 3,400 MaxxPro, 750 Okshosh ATV, ~350 Nimr’s which are locally manufactured, 1,150 Caiman’s from the U.S., so they’re a very versatile & mobile force which does suit UAE’s expeditionary activities

UAE’s Air Force is quite impressive w/ 80 F16E Block 60 Desert Falcons which is one of the best F16 types in service & they do have 80 Rafale jets on order as well so while it is a great quality Air Force w/ BVRAAM’s & a range of standoff capabilities & PGM’s🇦🇪

UAE has 78 G6 SPG’s, 87 M109, and 73 or so L118 towed artillery units & 32 US-made HIMARS, 12 Korean K239, 48 BM21, 48 Turkish T122, and ~5 Chinese SR-5….so they do pack a hefty punch, but don’t expect a massive Russian-level artillery barrage either

Regarding the Panstir-S1, UAE is the **only** operator of this modified version of Russia’s Panstir it’s on a larger German-made MAN vehicle hence its significantly larger than the original version that’s based on a Russian vehicle those have seen action in Libya & Yemen 🇦🇪

They have a rather large amount of helicopters w/ 30 AH-64E Apaches, 80 armed UH-60 Blackhawks, and 30 armed Bell 407’s tbh this assortment fits UAE’s spec ops/mercenary style military approach….they also do have several dozen transport helicopters like the CH-47 & Eurocopters

UAE’s Air Force has 5 Swedish-made (SAAB) GlobalEye AWACS those consist of what’s essentially a flying command center made up of sensors using Saab's Erieye ER (Extended Range) radar & this coordinates UAE’s Air Force as well as their air defenses

Egypt-North Korea (DPRK) ties are ummm a murky topic….DPRK militarily assisted EAF in 1973 & Egypt was the foundation of DPRK’s missile program via exporting Scud B’s to them in 1970’s-1980’s which in turn led DPRK to assist Egypt & Iran w/ their own ballistic missiles…..

True Israel did inform Egypt of the number & types of air assets & flight route that they’d take for their op in Yemen so as to prevent a risky miss understanding w/ Egypt in particular. KSA as well as the U.S. were also informed so it wasn’t a surprise per se….

Always found those pics of Hosni Mubarak at PM Rabin's funeral on 11/6/1995 quite striking....all eyes were on him, it's crazy how he headed the EAF in 1973 yet kept balanced cordial ties w/ Israelis & Palestinians & managed to uphold that for 31 years…..🇪🇬/🇮🇱

IDF’s armored corps does have ~400 Merkeva IV’s & a few hundred Merkeva III’s & I/II which are being turned into the Namer APC’s….total combat troops at full mobilization are only ~82K & currently only ~40K are available which is a very small combat force in total
