1/22 I first read this book in 2009 after losing 80% of my monies on Penny stocks as a student when the 2008 drawdown happened. Thought it was too simple ! Now in 2021, I think this is one of the best books to absorb & implement. A ๐Ÿงต #BookTwitter #BookRecommendations

Normally, it takes min 4-5 years to build up a decently well diversified portfolio to start seeing returns. Post that even after averaging up portfolio drawdowns happen from ATH. The entire portfolio doesn't turn negative! If you don't understand this stick to Index funds.

When I began investing, I panicked during 2008 crash & exited with 60%loss. My capital invested was hardly anything but the lessons I learnt were priceless !!! Post that I have always tried to be calm & used such dips to my advantage. Experience is indeed the best teacher ๐Ÿ˜‡

Small cap Mutual Funds are not meant for SIP over long periods.(Excel sheets may mislead) These are highly cyclical & are meant mostly for lumpsum investments or SIP in small phases. Seeing many rush to begin LT SIP in Small caps now. Could backfire spectacularly. #Investing

My mantra since a long time: During Bears : Focus on โฌ†๏ธCapital Allocation During Bulls : Focus on Capital Protection & book some profits to move to other Assets / Enjoy life For SIP : Continue always. Try to double up SIP during lows. Nothing fancy , but works for me.

@ParveenKaswan The Signature spider also known as Garden spider . It builds its web close to the ground to catch small insects like bees and wasps .It can eat insects twice its size. This spider's web is almost invisible except for the Zig Zag stripes known as the Stabilimentum.

Common reply to few DM. I don't just invest in Equity directly. I also SIP consistently in * ELSS * 1 Gold ETF * 1 Index Fund * 1 Flexi Cap Fund * Some SGB at times I don't understand Digital Gold / Crypto yet. Not fond of Bullion / Gold Jewellery. Stick to what you know!

@dmuthuk I wish the newbies realise this . Many earned money on junk stocks & feel they are masters of market . In reality 12-15% CAGR would be more realistic. Ideal to use this windfall money to clear off debts , buy proper insurance & as seed money for quality investing.

@dmuthuk Had been to a small village in past 3 days. The people there are aware of Corona and told me to wash my hands and feet with water and soap before entering and asked my travel history . I was shocked but so happy ! Also govt poster's in regional language was stuck. Very happy :)

1/10 We 80's kids are truly blessed. Life was simple then ! We used to play until we were screamed at to return home. We enjoyed our childhood without mobile phones & WIFI by playing a wide variety of games which improved our hand eye coordination,stamina & focus. #Nostalgia
