I'm half Jain. I'm a vegetarian. And an atheist. But I find this silly. What's this "saving" on Bakr Eid? Yes goats are slaughtered on this day but they're eaten, not killed in vain. It's no different from goats being slaughtered on any other day for food all over the country.

I remember in 12th grade we went on a school trip for a few days. Each night, teachers used to lock up the girls' rooms from the outside, to be opened in the morning. No such thing was done for boys. As a society we've got it all wrong. We lock up victims instead of perpetrators.

My daughter struggles to make friends. She feels she's rejected for her looks, or as a person. No matter what I say, she gets affected by others. It breaks my heart to see her confidence shatter. An 8 year old struggling with self image issues. What a ruthless world we live in!😓

I've seen many a couple grow old and bitter. Once the nest is empty, they don't have anything in common left, and spend the rest of their life in anger and resentment. It's more important to invest in your marriage than your children. Children go away. Spouse is forever.

There's a couple (married i assume) in a neighbouring building, who sit in their balcony every morning and evening having tea, sometimes chatting and laughing, sometimes sitting silently reading. I don't know them but i love their comfortable companionship. Wish I had that!❤️

I don't agree with most religious rituals and beliefs. Esp those related to widowhood, which are skewed negatively towards women. My mom will never be inauspicious for us. She'll continue to live her life as before, like wearing her red bindi, bangles etc. To hell with tradition.

An American, when travelling to India, needs to apply for visa online, and pay 10 dollars. And indian travelling to USA has to get one million documents and get rejected harshly more often than accepted in the interview, and pay $160 every time. What nonsense is this? 😡😡

My family has always been unorthodox. We even get criticized, but we don't care. Yesterday I not only went to the cremation ground, but also performed the last rites with my brother. I'm glad no one objected. Daughters deserve to bid goodbye to parents as much as sons do!

I'm diabetic. Not by birth, got it at 25. Once, a colleague said - 'oh, you became diabetic before marriage? then you must've had a love marriage.' she thought it's difficult for people with chronic conditions to get married. Do you think marrying someone like that is a favour?

As I complete 14 years of my relationship and 11 years of marriage next week, all I can say is... Shaadi karke koi kuch nahi ukhad leta hai. It's also imbalanced for women always. Also remember, (as my mom always says), when marriage walks in the door, love goes out the window.

Today on the Chautha, my brother was given the Pagri, Symbol of becoming responsible for the family. After the ritual was over I walked up to him, put half of the shawl on my shoulders, and told him I'm equally responsible for us, as I should be, irrespective of marital status.

I call my daughter by random names. Thia evening, I called her Champa Chameli. She came running. Amused, I asked her how she knows I'm calling her. She said: ma, there are no pets/other kids in the house. It's obvious it's me, cuz you definitely won't call daddy Champa Chameli!🤣
