Today I received my VA rating for sexual assault: PTSD, major depressive disorder, alcohol disorder and bruxism. It’s 100%. A couple things I wish I had done different: 1. Reported right away 2. Confronted the chaos 3. Looked for additional support It’s never too late.

Soldier life hack: Thread your awards, nametape, etc. This is helpful to quickly put your uniform together without additional help. I leave the thread there at all times and @PanelExpertSGMs has drastically reduced his adult liquid consumption & cussing before formal events.

Epic Monopoly games, Pick Up Sticks on the floor, tickles and wrestling. He was there for every game, every dance recital, for all of my greatest moments. The best dad, grandpa and friend. At 7:45 this morning, he was unresponsive, and we just couldn’t get him back.

Things about deployment that people don’t mention: 1. Everyone is nervous their first time. 2. It’s worse being the one left at home. 3. Unless you have a wet CHU, stop drinking water a few hrs before bed. 4. Deployed life is often more simple. 5. Acclimation takes time.
