WB is delisting Adult Swim Games on Steam. I want all of you to know that Volgarr the Viking is NOT one of them. I reclaimed full distribution rights a few years back when WB purchased ASG. Volgarr will remain. My heart goes out to the devs that are affected by this.

Truth. Learning to recognize a really well made game that happens to not be your cup of tea is a valuable skill to have. All art is subjective. For instance, I REALLY don't like Watch_Dogs, but I can see its very well made and others do. Just not for me and thats OKAY! :)

Never gave up on that game... once Rastan wasn't happening I tried to revive it in an original IP for Xbox Live Arcade. I forget why this didn't get made but here is a cool piece of art by me and my pal Dave Peixoto and Gabe Jackson.

I've a lot of experience in this area across arcade games to this in particular favorite; The early days of GBA didn't have backlit screens so we used high contrast & garish colors to make it look "good" or "normal". Then Nintendo backlit the system & those game looked AWFUL!

Here is my nuanced and complicated take on it: It depends on the game. Artists had different canvases. One NES game might have had its art drawn on Amiga DeluxePaint in perfect fidelity, another on the NES over composite. @Kev_Bayliss used to squint at his art to make it blur.

Update on the Volgarr the Viking II patch. We added new lines to the game & have to wait on localization & then testing in QA. This takes a little time, but we are moving as quickly as possible. Once the patch is in QA I'll share the upcoming patch notes. Thanks for patience!🍻
