At VCCA, Dr. Tamara MC worked on her memoir, HOUSE OF FAITH, about growing up in the first and possibly only Sufi Shi’ate Muslim commune in America. When not writing, she photographed adorable spotted deer, ran the track at Sweet Briar, and floated the lake on an orange noodle.
There's still time to apply to VCCA's inaugural Marian Treger Fellowship — open to women fiction writers/ screenwriters/visual artists, emerging in mid-life and beyond, whose creative paths have been detoured by chronic health conditions or disabilities.
Over the weekend, family and friends of Bill Smart paid tribute to his legacy as the first director of VCCA. "Ascending Moons" by VCCA Fellow Lorca Morello was placed by the Pasternak Bench in honor of Bill Smart's development of our international exchange program.
