I think he actually accurately diagnosed what was wrong with Nebraska's psychology. But was unable to cure it. Maybe things with Frost end differently if he had a better start. Maybe he got sucked into the fear of failure, and it changed his approach

6. We were mentally soft as well. No killer instinct. The team would fold like a house of cards as soon as things went wrong. There was no fire, no competitive spirit. You never saw guys in tears after a loss. It was "oh well, we'll get them next time."

10. Frost and Moos knew the Nebraska rebuild was not a reload, but in fact more of a complete demo. Things at Nebraska were rotten to the core. Stories have emerged about admin personnel unwilling to do their jobs. They knew it was bad, but still underestimated the job.

5. We could see how soft they were on the field. Tackling was terrible. Defenders weren't rallying to the ball. Maybe most telling was how often I guy would limp off the field "hurt," only to come back a few plays later. They were treating "owies" like injuries.

4. That's what was going on in the weightroom. We have anecdotal evidence that guys weren't forced to lift. Also evidenced by the rhabdo incident in the team when Duval took over, in spite of a pared back system. The team wasn't lifting hard enough, not by half.

21. The Youth Movement. Yes, we're young and inexperienced, but they will be seasoned. Also, we know that recruiting is correctly identifying talent. Betts and Flemming are going to be stars. Piper and Benhard are going to be studs. And we will have a stable of horses at RB.

18. The coaching differential between the AAC and B1G is similarly wide. The AAC promotes coaches out; the B1G promotes coaches in. Frost is currently the 2nd youngest coach in the B1G, and also has the 2nd least experience.

8. UCF rebuild (reload) was a different situation than most. UCF had recent success, and had simply been over regulated by an old school coach with overly strict rules. When Frost took over he was able to loosen things up, make football fun while keeping key discipline elements

9. UCF reload was aided by the AAC. In the AAC, good coaches are promoted to P5 jobs. So you are coaching against guys who have peaked in the P6, or who have not yet shown the ability to beat P6 teams. Additionally, UCF talent level compares favorably to their opponents.

17. Nebraska rebuild is not the same as the Nebraska rebuild, for all the reasons listed above, and more. Nebraska may have a slight talent edge vs. the West, but much of that was cancelled out through attrition. And you cannot underestimate the development gap. Was huge.

16. Attrition has lead to a youth movement. Outside of Mills, all contributing RB's are Frosh or RSFR. None of the WR recruits have panned out. Our best returning WR is a walk on who was a QB in high school. The OL has RSFR starting every year. Not a recipe for success.
