13 innocent civilians were gunned down by the armed forces in Nagaland's Mon district bordering Myanmar in what looks like a case of mistaken identity during an insurgency operation. Just last month an army officer was gunned down with his wife, 5 year son in Manipur.

@cynstepin Christians are the most peaceful, harmonious people. To be insecure of us would be like being afraid of sheep. I remember vividly neighbours complaining when we clapped in our church so our congregation practiced soundless applause thereafter. That's the extent we'd go.

Will somebody explain the logic behind security forces' aggression on students in #Imphal using pellet gun, tear gas, lathi & their war and combat skills which seem to be under utilised in the last 5 months they been in #Manipur . Why not use it on armed militants in #CCpur ?

My question to Meghalaya following Patricia Mukhim's statement is will Meghalaya resort to poppy cultivation too bcz " no other crop cultivation is sustainable in hilly terrain "? Will Meghalaya stop beetlenut, apple and other cultivation because poppy fetches higher income?

Patricia Mukhim from Shillong Times on an interview on The Wire says Kukis cultivate poppy in Manipur because no other cultivation is sustainable but this is completely false. The hills are rich for growing fruits, vegetables. By her logic, drugs business also validated!
