Only in Brooklyn: A Williamsburg senior needing help loading packages stopped a passing biker, and got the presidential treat. @ReynosoBrooklyn loaded the packages for him. The resident was surprised to afterward find out who helped him. What a generous mentch, our BP!

During the past days, we have been working with @SenSchumer 's office to reunite a family fleeing Ukraine that the mom was in NY, while the father and most children - including a toddler - were stranded between Moldova and Romania missing his visa and a child's passport.

To be clear: We introduced this bill because the law should *explicitly* ban corporal punishment in all schools. The use of physical or violent methods to ostensibly discipline students has happened in many schools. I haven't seen any evidence of it being a pattern in yeshivas.

Today @NYCMayor announced that the Office for Hate Crime Prevention will open this summer. Since the @NYCCouncil passed my bill (w @MarkLevineNYC & @DRichards13 ) to create this office, our City has experienced a shocking rise in hate crimes. 🗽NYC is fighting back against hate.

1/2 Tens of thousands of community members wore costumes, face masks and face paint on Purim, as is the tradition, and the overwhelming majority of them were funny and respectful. Sadly, a very small number of individuals wore insensitive makeup and costumes. This is unacceptable
