I’m on a Board of Directors meeting on Zoom.
People are introducing themselves and saying “And my pronouns are she/her” or whatever.
I simply gave my name.
They asked me to declare my pronouns.
I said: “I declare that my gender is the least interesting thing about me.”
@votelandry
The only thing worse than the catechesis of most Catholic schools is someone who can’t figure out on their own that dismembering unborn babies and crushing their skulls with forceps is a bad thing.
A poor man is dying in the nursing home.
The local priest I called refused to provide Last Rites, saying the Bishop has disallowed it.
I begged him to show mercy and do the right thing.
He didn’t want to get in trouble, he told me.
I am heartbroken by this abject betrayal.
@TheAstroN8
Very inappropriate to mention the loss of the aircraft immediately after mentioning the death of those people, as if there were even the most remote equivalency. Shame on you.
I’ve been watching The Andy Griffith Show each evening after dinner, and I had forgotten how delightful it is.
Good, clean, American fun.
I miss that America.
Friends, I just learned that my cousin, 54 years old, three kids, was diagnosed with stage 4 lung cancer. Any prayers for Stuart would be greatly appreciated.
So disheartening how often this happens: Catholic Residents are dying and their children have zero interest in having a priest perform Last Rites.
It breaks my heart.
My cousin Stuart, 55, diagnosed a few months ago with lung cancer, died last night.
If you could spare a prayer for his soul and for his family’s consolation, I’d be most grateful.
Thank you.
arrived too soon. He was horrified that a brother priest could refuse Last Rites to a dying man.
He was visibly shaken by this.
Thank God for the remnant of faithful priests who possesses the courage and love of the saints.
Shame on the modernists, the heretics, the apostates.
A young lady who works in laundry just came to me saying she found $250 and wanted to return it to its owner.
She works there all alone; no one would have known if she pocketed it.
That’s what real Integrity looks like: when you do the right thing even when no one is looking 👍🏾
I’ve been thinking a lot about the crisis in the Church and the horrors emanating from Rome.
And then I think of the faithful Japanese Catholics who kept the Faith for 250 years with no priests, no sacraments.
They’re my inspiration.
“Have you ever noticed that saints fear Hell, but never deny it. But the great sinners deny Hell and do not fear it? The Devil is never so strong as when he gets men to deny there is a Devil.”

I was angry when a colleague wasn’t returning time-sensitive calls & emails. “Doesn’t he know how important this is?”, I thought in disgust.
I learned today he’s been grappling with an awful cancer diagnosis.
Moral is clear: Make charitable assumptions about people’s behavior.
When I told my Maronite Monk confessor that this great apostasy in the Church was causing disquiet in my soul, he thrust the Rosary into my hands and sternly admonished me:”Then pray your beads and ask God to make you a saint!”
“Christian suffering is not the mere experience of pain, nor even just the tolerance of pain. In the Christian philosophy of life, suffering is to be sanctified and the sanctification of suffering is called sacrifice.”

Why would that surprise you? The Government has zero incentive to spend money wisely and every incentive to pay off as many friends and benefactors as possible. It’s the only thing it does efficiently.
My son came within inches of getting hit by a speeding car yesterday. I can’t stop thinking about it.
He’s never spoken about angels to me before but said: “I felt something pulling me back. I think it was my Guardian Angel.”
I thank God for his protection, either way.
Serving breakfast to the residents on the Alzheimer’s Unit and Pavarotti was singing in the background.
I commented, almost to myself: “Pavarotti and pancakes.”
A 100 year old man who never speaks, and rarely responds, smiled and simply said “Clever.”

My confessor reminded me that one day in heaven everything will be made perfectly clear. Why the Good God allowed us to carry such heavy crosses; every apparent contradiction, every “unheard” prayer.
It was all perfectly deigned to ensure our salvation.
We are so blessed.
Had not this little 15 year old Jewish girl in a tiny little town said “yes” to God, the Gates of Heaven would never have opened.
She is the Mother of God and the Gate of Heaven.
St. Thomas Aquinas: “Out of reverence towards this sacrament [the Holy Eucharist], nothing touches it, but what is consecrated; hence the corporal and the chalice are consecrated, and likewise the priest's hands, for touching this sacrament.

My daughter in Vermont has devoted all her time and money for the past 8 years to establish a successful preschool.
The Government is now making it impossible for her to keep her school open.
She’ll lose everything.
She’s inconsolable.
Oh... Total Covid deaths in VT?
58.
I just said “okey-dokey” at a meeting and half the room started laughing.
I asked what was funny and they said: “We like your old fashioned phrases.”
So that’s me: Uncle Flapjacks, Purveyor of Old Fashioned Phrases
Each feast of the Immaculate Conception, I ponder one key question: Had Mary not said yes, Christ would not have been born, nor died, nor atoned for our sins, nor the gates of heaven been opened.
She is The Immaculate Conception and The Gate of Heaven.
Democracy is a dead man walking
Each side has declared every election they lose fraudulent for literally my entire adult life
We will continue to go through the motions because no one knows what else to do but voting as a true mechanism for legitimization is dead
These insipid little men are worse than lacking in courage...they’re lacking in mercy, lacking in faith and lacking in love.
First they took away the grandeur, piety and beauty of the Mass and replaced it with a secularized liturgy, banal music and felt banners.
Then they...
@OrthodoxReflec1
I think the faithful Japanese artist who painted this most definitely does not view Jesus & Mary as a concept.
One doesn’t show this degree of piety and beauty to a mere concept.
I’m also quite sure he knew they weren’t born in Tokyo.
My daughter from New England now lives on the Kentucky/Tennessee line. Not a week goes by without her telling me: “There really is such a thing as southern hospitality. People are nicer down here.”
denigrate and mock everything we hold dear.. and in the greatest betrayal of all, they’ve now taken away the consolation and grace that comes from Last Rites.
These faithless frauds believe in nothing.
Nothing.
The traditional priest I called to offer Last Rites couldn’t have
@AndyKimNJ
In solidarity with you, Andy, I’m donating the T-shirt, gym shorts and tube socks I wore last Saturday to the Smithsonian.
My kids staged an insurrection that night when I served liver for dinner.
“Those who deny sin become scandal mongers & hyper critics because they have to project their real guilt outside of themselves onto others. It gives them an illusion of goodness.”
