@Kermittend
I've watched Pokรฉmon in Japanese since around the Black and White days and I still can't bring myself to call Ash Satoshi or Jessie and James Musashi and Kojiro lol, it just feels weird
I get jumpscared when I load sif2 and I hear Mia Taylor's English ass voice say "Love Live! School Idol Festival 2! Miracle Live!" in the most Ohio accent possible
@historicalfits
It's the knock on effect of people thinking all fiction needs to be morally correct and the fiction you consume says something about your morals as a person. Whenever there's a mean or evil character they like they have to do mental gymnastics to justify it
@Mlickles
He brought along his daughter because he is proud of her and also thought it would help Miles take the harsh news better. There's an entire scene explaining his perspective, did they just not watch it?
@Ami0Amii
The older realistic style worked for what Shrek was going for. I love the new style more but that doesn't make the old style bad. People have a tendency to put something down when they want to prop something else up...
I know some might think Love Live is hard to keep up with because of all the JP-only stuff we never get, but as an outsider I feel like overseas Idolmaster fans have it even worse. A good amount of the anime and like none of the games are even licensed by anyone outside Japan
@DPPt_Shitpost
Couldn't they have made it like, a notebook you carry around to record Pokemon data in instead of a magical smartphone from god in middle ages Japan ๐
@Kermittend
Was really sad that we didn't literally fight her, like what even was her plan then? To become one with an Ultra Beast and then.... go back to her normal life?
You won't find any official Dragon Ball x Sonic illustrations but you will find fully fledged merchandise, references and even staff members for Sonic x Love Live
@KrisWolfheart
"These CARTOONISTS clearly don't know how to tell a proper story with real stakes. We'll fix up all those character flaws so it can be considered real, serious art ๐ฅฑ"
@spice8_
Yep! Pretty much every single character minus a few have entirely different names in Japanese, same as the games. Jessie and James are so iconic sounding I don't think I'll ever switch though haha
I do not understand how someone can be a Love Live fan but hate any one or more particular groups... I get being indifferent, but hating feels so forced... Let go and enjoy or just ignore lol
@kiikazuu
Avoided watching this video because I figured it'd be a reason like this lol
There's so much out there that isn't in high school, but that's all people watch so that's all they see
@GoNintendoTweet
Not to undermine the immense success, but... I don't think the Mario movie has changed the state of cinema as we know it. It was just a fun time.
If he just means video game to movie adaptations, then sure.
@pikmin_facts
For nearly 20 years I thought the first health icon was Olimar with a really annoyed face like this. I never even questioned it before today until seeing it's just a light reflection. My life is a lie...
@KirbyCheatFurby
Said this on another tweet a while back but it's because many memes nowadays are thinly veiled "my thing good vs. your thing bad", or they devolve into that over time. Very few stay around long enough to develop a legacy
@zero_song
@LaikaUnderwater
@SuperNinfendo
So itโs not just me that feels like thereโs less unique dialogue? I remember playing City Folk and New Leaf a lot for a time and never feeling the level of repetitious dialogue like with NH
@Gozutrucker69
The amount of relief I have when there's just a normal ass website with everything you need listed right there and not a Discord invite link is immense
Before this gets misinterpreted I don't mean to say "accept worse things without question", I just mean you gotta broaden your horizons if you think this is bad or the worst thing ever. Watch more anime, watch more animation in general, try it yourself!
@ZinogreVolt
*SIGH* "I didn't want to have to make this video..."
*SIGH* "I thought I would never have to think about (insert thing) again..."
*SIGH* "It's time we had a talk about (insert thing)..."
@Crunchyroll
โWe see countless โanime aestheticโ accounts on Twitter constantly reposting the same images from Ghibli and Makoto Shinkai films, but theyโre always in the worst quality. Just use these at the very least.โ
@SSJ3Goku90
So instead of, idk, balancing the catch rates of higher leveled Pokemon based on your number of badges or something similar, they just removed the option to catch above your level entirely.
Sounds just like the EXP share, but of course people will still defend this.
@rock10zxa
This guy's shtick has been "Haha, who actually likes that ANIME garbage, amirite guys?" for years and somehow people finding that hilarious interesting commentary
@PLDHnet
Not to mention Regice being made of Antarctic ice, Regirock being made of rocks from all over the world, and Registeel being made of metal not even from this planet, I would love to see an entire short film about Regigigasโ travels
@Akfamilyhome
They left it out of the little anniversary medley at the end of the direct which is reeeeeally weird ๐คจ Like even if they werenโt gonna port that too itโs still strange
I stumbled on a blog that has a series of posts called "The Fujoshi Files" which just chronicles anime/manga girls who are fujos and gives them a 'Fujoshi Level'. And honestly? Respect.
@highimpactsex
Literally all of my Japanese professors in college were just happy to know that people wanted to learn the language. They knew that a lot of us were into anime and stuff and even regularly encouraged us to watch it with subs off for practice.
@brenden060
@ArloStuff
The original gameโs atmosphere and charm has stuck with many players over the years. It allows the Pokรฉmonโs personalities to shine. Itโs very simple but itโs just a feel good experience
It's a shame nobody ever talks about Kemurikusa, even while it was airing. It didn't make as much of a splash as Kemono Friends, but I still thought it was pretty good. Would have liked to see a second season
