The USCG and ADEC are responding to flooding in Mendenhall Valley.
Pollution responders are conducting shoreline assessments along Mendenhall River and water-side assessments in and around Fritz Cove.

The USCG has suspended search efforts for the persons aboard the missing airplane from Juneau to Yakutat. “The decision to suspend is never easy,” said Lt. Matt Naylor, the Search Mission Coordinator for the case. “Our sympathy is with the families of those on board.”
Searches continued today for the overdue aircraft en route from Juneau to Yakutat, AK. The persons onboard have been ID'd as Samuel Wright, Hans Munich, and Tanya Hutchins. The aircraft's last known position was near Mt. Crillon in the Fairweather mountain range.
Continued searches for the overdue aircraft yielded no results today. Searches will resume tomorrow morning. Search assets so far have included USCG Air Stations Sitka and Kodiak C-130s and MH-60s, USCG Cutter Reef Shark, US Air Force C-130, and a Good Samaritan aircraft.
The USCG is searching for an overdue aircraft near Fairweather Mountain Range. The aircraft is a Beechcraft Bonanza with three persons onboard flying from Juneau to Yakutat. Search efforts are being coordinated with the Alaska Rescue Coordination Center and Alaska State Troopers.

is scheduled to conduct waterborne operations in the Homer vicinity over the summer as Sector Western Alaska and U.S. Arctic augments its capabilities with small boat teams from Maritime Safety and Security Team Seattle (MSST) 91101.

Last night, a boat crew from

Station Ketchikan rescued 2 crew members and their dog from the fishing vessel MONA LEE in the Behm Canal after it started taking on water from running aground.
No injuries were reported.
