And home! Fareham to Stoke in one hit, non-stop, having been parked since Autumn. Air in tyres, fuel in tank...no other prep. 420 miles without missing a beat in supreme comfort. 38mpg @ Audi A4 TDI speeds. 38yrs old. I love that thing!

Nothing more depressing than, having just travelled miles and miles on France's smooth, free-flowing Paeages and motorways, and landing back on the M20 stuck behind a white Range Rover Evoque with a private 4d plate sitting in the middle lane and alternating between 65 and 80mph.

I've never been into the Turbodiesel BXs much, but took this home last night for an extended test run to see if I've cured it's ailments. It's pretty chill, I can see why they sold so many. Low revs, 40-50mpg, smooth ride and as quick as a 1.6 petrol. Not bad!

Sit-rep: Day four of C6 ownership. Have put in some diesel. Spoiler works. Suspension works perfectly, apart from when it doesn't. Gearbox more indecisive than me, need to sort that. Air-con inop...wind noise excessive as windows must be down to avoid thermal trauma. Love it.

1975 Citroen D Super 5 for sale spares/repairs. It owes me £2500, I'll let it go for £2200 until 12/11/23. After that I take a plasma cutter to it: I need the space (mentally & physically). Will add full description from superior SoMe sites that allow you more characters.

Dug out the laptop yesterday, and plugged in the £750 C6 for some diagnostics and a bit of pratting around (like making the front raise and the back lower, like Thunderbird 2). Anyway, one of the coolest bits still works.

How?! How did you just do that, with half a carburettor?! 37 years old, been sat outdoors off the road unused for at least 15 years, and just dragged its own weight 250 miles up and down some of the steepest roads I've driven. Yesterday was stressful, today? I'm in awe!

On the weekend, I'm going to attempt to drive to Wales in a BX. A BX which is now 37 years old and a BX which has covered 600 miles in 15 years. Oh, and I'll be towing with it. I think the last time I drove a BX to Wales, I had more fun than I'm going to have this time.

In a rare fit of motivation, I removed the indicator lenses from my Imp to fit LEDs underneath. Now it looks like it has clear indicators. And so now I need clear Indicators for my Imp, cos that looks better. This is how it snowballs.

I are reject. Threw my dad's 19GT into the ring for the Concours thing at FotU, but it was turned down. Was offered a complimentry ticket, though, which is a nice touch. In the event a BX does appear in the concours, I know of another that entered which would do brilliantly!
