Hi to my new and old followers! Seems like a good day to remind you that negative comments about children, people’s bodies, me personally, and conspiracy theories (especially around pregnancies), are not welcome in my replies. There is a difference between critical and cruel!
One observation about the Trooping fashion - it was absolutely intentional that Kate and Camilla were both in rewears. It sent a clear message that this day is all about the Queen, not about fashion or having other adult family members in the headlines.

Anyone paying attention this week knows that there is no “unity” between the Sussexes and the family, only a temporary truce, that H&M did their best to undermine by leaking stories to position themselves as victims of cruelty, with no regard for pulling focus from The Queen. 1/
Royal Twitter friends, I’m getting married tomorrow! 👰🏻♀️ Sad to miss Saturday’s vigil and other events over the next few days, but my soon-to-be husband is a keeper who understands that the first morning of our honeymoon will be spent watching the funeral. Cheers to you all!🤍🥂🤍
William spent years building a relationship with the media & public that allowed his kids to have the childhood he never had. In just a few weeks, bored Americans have created market for invasive images, video and private medical records. Appalling to see this family dehumanized.
To everyone asking why KP waited to announce it, I think it's important to remember that it isn't always PR strategy, much of the time with W&C, it's about family. Today is the start of their children's Easter break, and this timing protects them from the worst of the press.
Sending my thoughts and prayers to the PR person who is sitting in a hotel room with Harry and Meghan while they get hair & makeup and had to break the news that the diplomatic reception is happening tonight.
Do you know what sounds like a nice thing to do on Mother’s Day? Pick apart a photo of a woman recovering from major surgery and her children because of Internet conspiracy theories.
Get a grip people. Seriously, touch grass.
The Princess of Wales and Duchess of Edinburgh really heard “no tiaras” and immediately coordinated the most crown-like headpieces possible. Talk about giving the people what we want!

Just a reminder that a majority of the Queen’s grandchildren (working and non-working Royals!) spent the ENTIRE WEEKEND WITH HER, regularly see her in person and likely know her staff and the people around her the last two years very well.
I would yell at my sibling if they dropped a massive public statement about leaving the family company and outlined terms that had not been agreed upon the day before my spouse’s birthday, causing stress to our 93 year old grandmother and a media sh** storm.
It’s incredible that at 95, The Queen can walk into an event with the most powerful leaders in the world and still command all of the focus and attention. She outmatches all them in terms of experience, longevity and public support, a fact the world was reminded of today.
The royal family shared themselves and their extended family with us all weekend, and masterfully used the

I wonder what would happen if the Sussexes just did the work they said they left to do, whether it’s philanthropic or producing content, instead of continuously throwing the royal family under the bus while being used as a PR prop for other organizations and content creators?
Today’s engagements from King Charles and the Prince and Princess of Wales are perfect examples of why the monarchy endures. Even in the face of intense personal drama, they show up in the communities and with the people that need it the most, and highlight the work of others.
THREAD: Harry’s fixation on his place in the line of succession has always confused me as he was set up to have a more high profile role than any of Charles’ siblings. He’s William’s only brother, with an aging group ahead of them and Charles’ plan for a slimmed down monarchy. 1/
I can’t think of a better person to share my birthday with, or a better reason to be on Twitter today than celebrating

Deadpool actor Ryan Reynolds jokes that he took "etiquette classes" with Rob McElhenney before King Charles III and Queen Consort Camilla's visit to Wrexham AFC's stadium. 😂
The royals met players and staff as well as the co-chairmen during a tour of the Racecourse Ground.
H&M put out 6 hours of video and a full book complaining about the monarchy and chock full of images and video they had taken on crown property. They showed zero gratitude for things, like Frogmore, they were given. If you hate the monarchy, then you don’t get the perks of it. 1/
If H&M had stuck to facts - paparazzi followed them, concern for their privacy, police support required, it could have been compelling and supported their narrative. Using language like “near catastrophic” and the 2 hour “aggressive” chase opened them up to fact checking. 1/
Can someone remind Omid that the man he is insulting was one of the main sources for his book and a big reason he probably got a deal for the second one? I guess he’s just bitter that his own lies to the court were also revealed in that witness statement…
I can’t understand how these people who are blaming “the palace” don’t grasp that Kate, as the Princess of Wales, a 40+ year old working royal, who has been a key part of the royal family for over a decade, and is the mother and wife of the two next monarchs IS the palace.
If Meghan really hadn’t bullied staff, she wouldn’t just have her lawyer speaking to the press denying it, she would be taking legal action against the publication that printed it to begin with.
If you have to ride the PR coattails of a 3-year-old’s birthday and can only get big press when it’s related to sad attempts to overshadow life events involving the family you claim to hate, maybe your “brand” isn’t as strong as you thought it was?
Between Prince William with the

A few random thoughts and reminders:
The only current member of the royal family that we know have called the paparazzi on themselves is Meghan. She did it before Harry and after they went public. There is a pretty strong case to be made for her doing it in the past year.
My grandparents caused my father pain, my father caused me pain, and now, to “break the cycle” I’m going to cause all of them more pain.
Makes complete sense.
Celebs that are rarely papped have good security, use back entrances, sit at discreet tables and keep a low daily profile. When they are photographed the one time famous family visit, walking in and at a visible outdoor table, without security stopping it, that isn’t an accident.
So Harry is upset that in 2020, in the midst of a period of crisis for the family (that he caused), and a worldwide pandemic, William chose not to pursue a lengthy public court battle and instead choose to settle, a completely normal legal path? Make it make sense please.
Is anyone else appalled that Omid Scobie can write a book that was:
a) hand fed to him by the subjects to suit their agenda
b) publicly disavowed in court by the same subjects
c) proven inaccurate by a significant amount of reporting since
and get ANOTHER royal book deal?
The
#1
person who has caused negative stories about royal family members in the tabloid press using leaked secrets and lies over the last four years is Prince Harry.
He actually did it. Staged a photo shoot with US military/families to release timed to promote his Netflix show. He could have visited anywhere else on Veteran’s Day, but chose the site that just so happens to have it’s own Remembrance Day right before their premiere date.
Everything is wrong with this picture. He’s not a prince of America, why is he getting this level of welcome? He’s a PRIVATE CITIZEN. I certainly don’t get this type of welcome when I visit Pearl Harbor. Ugh, this is so embarrassing. 😳 We need to stop humoring his delusions.🤦🏼♀️
A 🧵 of some of the times that the Royal Family has extended an olive branch to the Sussexes since their departure (outside of annual holiday invites). Many of these were used by the Sussexes for PR, rejected or immediately preceded/followed by terrible public behavior:
The Sussexes must be worried that they aren’t getting enough press on this trip, if they are bringing up family drama via Omid. Not to mention how ridiculous it is for him to write a story about their relationship, while also “calling out” how other press are reporting on it.
While Harry’s many cousins gracefully and quietly accepted that the royal order of things meant they had less public chances to honor their beloved Grannie, the Sussexes moaned about every tiny detail, both justified and not. If I were the Yorks or Philips’ I would be livid. 3/
Her face says it all! Last year I finally met my birthday twin, the Princess of Wales!! I can’t wait to see what this next year brings for both of us.
#HappyBirthdayCatherine
The insults towards the Kate in this ridiculous new book are actually all good things.
She has been open to training and help for a highly scrutinized and public role, she/William prioritize taking care of their children and she has a work life balance.
Where is the problem?
Meghan looks gorgeous, but also like she is going to get engaged to your dad while you are at summer camp and then try to convince him to send you away to boarding school.
Reminder that the reason most people were discussing Meghan’s race when she and Harry became public is because we were all wildly excited that a biracial woman could be marrying into the Royal family! At the beginning, almost everyone was rooting for her.
It is ridiculous that people somehow read Kate’s return to the public eye tomorrow as her trying to steal attention. Do they really think Charles is so weak that he wasn’t consulted and that the Wales’ could have made this decision without his support? 1/
Netflix has made a huge mistake splitting the Sussex series. The views were always going to be decent, but the 1st set being boring and filled with easily proven lies will impact the performance of the 2nd set. If they watch, the credibility is low with viewers and critics.
I don’t think the birthday wishes for Harry are an olive branch, I think it’s the RF trying to avoid unfair stories about how they “ignored” the birthday of someone who has relentlessly slandered and harassed them and is basically extorting them for security.
What this means:
- That the “friends of” and “sources close to the Sussexes” are legit sources, and the media have let the palace know that
- That H&M are still actively planting stories with UK and US tabloids
- All parties involved can now consider themselves warned by BP
Harry’s recent interviews reveal three important things:
1) Even in the context of a project as inspiring and incredible as Invictus, the media finds the very short time he spent with the Queen and his relationship with the working royals the most interesting thing about him.
Is anyone else just glad to hear that Peter Phillips and the Earl of Snowdon will also walk behind the coffin? I think it’s so lovely to see ALL THREE of his adult grandsons, and a nephew that he was so close with, have the same standing and honor him together.
I cannot get over the chaos they created (and am also deeply frustrated with the press for playing into it). The only consolation is that their fall PR push has been delayed, their content has to be reworked and they face a hopefully tough new royal order that will hit back. 5/
They have proven themselves as untrustworthy, self absorbed & petty as expected. Unable to accept that they CHOSE to leave and give up the status of working royals to make $, they couldn’t even be satisfied with the extra privileges they received because of Charles being King. 2/
This is so wonderful and personal, a very sincere effort to remind all of us that they are real people and a real family and to support other cancer patients and survivors.
Also, a secondary clear message that they would like speculation around her return to work to stop.

One of the highlights of today was not seeing the Duchess of Cambridge. She raised interest in submissions and built excitement, but let the launch be 100% about the stories of the people that were selected. She knew that at the end of the day it wasn’t about her. True royalty.
Tell tale sign you called the paparazzi and chose photos over privacy/security - the multiple other, just as famous, dinner guests managed to get in and out of the restaurant without being photographed.
Laughing over the fact that out of everything that has happened in the last week, Harry had his team comment on a wedding Save the Date. It truly reveals how sad and petty their priorities are.
Valentine Low was never sued for his original bullying story and this book has even more detail.
It also humanizes the staff, a thing that gets lost at times. They aren’t just “aides,” staffers” or “men in grey suits” - they are people with unique experiences and personalities.

Harry literally worships Diana like she is a god. He keeps symbols and images of her everywhere, asks for her guidance constantly, and reads her presence into every moment of his life. No wonder Meghan’s adoration of her was so welcome. He had found someone to join his cult.

A brave and lovely statement. My thoughts are with the Wales' and the entire extended family, who are grappling with two cases of cancer and a recent death - I hope the world can show them some human compassion and understanding.
So, the Queen and Sir Edward specifically advocated for the Sussexes to keep their security, Charles gave them hundreds of thousands of $ to keep them afloat/safe while they lined up the commercial deals, and yet their narrative for years has been that the family cut them off?

Is it an olive branch to invite someone to a party, if you plan it on a day they have extensive work obligations that have been planned months in advance? This story is precisely why the Cambridges didn’t spend any time with them privately. Who knows what would be coming out.
I’m howling over the Sussexes announcing their 2022 “plans” through Omid Scobie the exact same day that a court hearing yet again calls them out for lying about collaborating with him on his book and the timeline around it, and raises other serious credibility issues.
As a person who comments on the relationship between the royals and the media, I don’t even know where to start on these last two days. Harry seems to be following the worst mistakes the RF has made w/ the media instead of righting wrongs and making peace. It’s all just tragic.

This is the only section you need to read in
@thetimes
piece about the Sussexes global PR head leaving. PR can have high turnover, but to openly criticize them and voice her frustrations to the press, plus leave without something else lined up shows just how bad things were.
Meghan showed us all exactly who she is. A woman so self absorbed, that even though she spent less than 2 years as a working royal, will leak that she sent a wreath (something many other people did), to make the funeral of someone who served for 73 years, about her. 2/
I also didn’t comment on why a PR firm and a client part ways, but it’s never for a good reason, and usually (especially with a large, well known agency) it’s the client that is getting fired, or firing because their highly unrealistic expectations are impossible to meet. 4/
THREAD: First, this is NOT a criticism of Meghan, but is anyone else getting frustrated with all of the organizations and media hailing her as the first “feminist” in the Royal Family? An institution led by one of the longest reigning and most respected monarchs in history, 1/
I’m glad that people have apologized to the Princess of Wales for spreading conspiracies but what about the other very innocent people who were dragged into the madness? Like Thomas Kingston’s grieving family? Or the Cholmondeleys? People who truly didn’t choose a public life?
So smart of them the leverage the buzz and extra eyeballs on them from the premiere last night with engagements today! Focusing the attention and interest to future frontline workers and non-profits in Northern Ireland is a master stroke that puts the emphasis back on their work.
Invictus is Harry’s most impressive and impactful project, but the reality is that if your charity work is 10% of your headlines, polo is 10% and your lawsuits, personal drama, and failed projects are the other 80%, public perception of your brand will shift. 1/
But guys!! She HANDWROTE the note! It was a funeral for a military man, no one is going to give you a medal sweetie for pinning a handwritten note to Harry’s jumper before he got on the plane. It was classless, tacky and transparently self serving to send it to the press. 4/
The lack of logic:
“Our family hasn’t invited us to Christmas because we used stories about them to make money, talked continuously about how terrible they are in the press and betrayed their trust. Let’s leak a story about wanting to go - that will surely get us an invite!”
EXCLUSIVE - The Duke and Duchess of Sussex would welcome an invite to a Sandringham Christmas or family time with the King, after glimmers of a thaw in frosty royal relations. But no invitations have ever been extended. Is trust the issue? My royal read 👇🏼
Overall, I loved the coverage that I watched and have enjoyed seeing the royal reporters insight and details about the service. I’m just sick of Meghan not getting the eye roll she deserves for being a press chasing egomaniac and the press letting Harry use his family for PR. 8/
The idea that the British press, as a whole, and large portions of the international press, would hold back a major story about a member of the royal family that they had verified proof to back up, shows just how far people will stretch reality in their minds to fit their agenda.
Will I still be someone people follow for my thoughts on the Royals and the press if I stop commenting on the Sussexes legal battles with media? Because honestly, I’m just exhausted by it at this point.
It’s dismaying that when Meghan says royal life pushed her to an emotional breaking point, people rally around her/she is able to Piers Morgan fired over mental health comments, but many of those same people have dismissed claims that M&H pushed staff to a very similar point. 1/2
So Meghan got caught LYING multiple times to the court, and it’s the fault of the employee who had been dragged into the legal case against his will and felt compelled to tell the truth? Even better, the fault of William for allowing him to break his NDA to do so?
Post wedding, the roles they were given within the Commonwealth & other orgs/patronages were substantial. He could have taken the next 5 years to translate the support from their wedding into an indisputably powerful global position. It’s sad he couldn’t see that path forward. 5/
Having a source leak that you are pulling out of a previously unannounced appearance is a pretty gross way of doing self-promotional PR during this time.
This is obviously incredibly serious and I hope that the press and public are able to respect their wishes around her recovery. It’s so sad that they needed to dedicate much of this statement to the potential violation of her most basic privacy.
Adult man is shocked that his former employer was consulted regarding whether he should continue to receive the perks of his former job that he chose to leave to make more money elsewhere.
Prince Harry is considering a new lawsuit after the palace didn't tell the Home Office he'd pay for police security. He is "engaged in pre-action correspondence for a proposed second judicial review claim in relation to these matters, and intends to issue that claim shortly."
I always thought Harry saying he was “cut off” after the first quarter of 2020 conveniently misrepresented that he had likely received a large lump sum from Prince Charles before then, but he had to know that everything would come out in the financial reports, right? Why lie??
So lovely! This may not seem that big of a deal to those who don’t closely follow the royals, but it’s wild that Camilla has never been in British Vogue and truly shows how far public perception has improved and an acceptance of her role moving forward.
How many more speeches will H be asked to give with the same recycled messaging? I actually agree with many of his stances, but it’s the same references to Diana, being a husband/father and buzzword-filled comments on the state of the world w/ no ideas or actions to back them up.
Can someone please tell Harry that he is creating a whole new cycle and version of the “generational pain” he complained of last year?
Maybe one of his therapists? Or the coaches at BetterUp? The person he did EMDR with?
When you regularly announce new projects when others are doing high profile work, because it might give you extra media coverage…that says more about their power than yours.
If you don’t want to be the “center of attention,” you don’t leak numerous stories. I know the press is at fault for covering it, but we haven’t heard anything like this from many of his actual grandchildren who are respecting and following the family plan
Just a reminder that phone hacking is terrible, but Harry’s phone hasn’t been hacked since 2009. He’s “fighting to expose” illegal tactics that have been widely exposed since 2011 and have not happened in over a decade.

The strategy here is that if you can’t get the sympathy you want because you exaggerated an incident and are being questions over it, find a way to make it all about how heartless the royal family is and try to take the heat off of yourself and your massive PR errors.
