For anyone who can't keep up: USS now agree with us (UCU) that there's no deficit for our employers (UUK) & so cuts to our pensions are unnecessary 😌 But they (USS) need approval from them (UUK) to reverse the cuts they (UUK) only supported because of their (USS's) advice 🤦

We will be stepping down our strike action as of Thursday, Sept 21, after accepting an offer of a flat ex gratia payment, equivalent to 5 days of annual leave, to all colleagues who faced MAB deductions. Of the whopping 98 members who attended our urgent meeting, 85% voted yes.

Update: we were invited to a meeting with mgmt at 4pm, where we were simply told that returning any amount of deductions was considered a 'red line' that they would not cross. There may be a further mtg on Monday, but for now, the strike goes ahead next week.
