論文が出版されました。2020年に「女性リーダーの方がコロナ対策に秀でている」的な議論がありましたが、20世紀のパンデミックではどうだったかを、操作変数法と固定効果モデルで検証しました。その結果、女性首相・大統領ではなく、女性議員割合が高いほど、被害が小さいことを発見しました。

すでに評判高い多湖先生の国際政治の教科書一読したけどとても良かった。スタンダードな論点は抑えつつ、日本人著者の英語論文や日本語の博論本なども押さえて、自然な流れで最先端の議論に触れられるようになっているのは見事だと思った。

「1960年代-80年代における大統領の省庁間調整の変容」が『アメリカ太平洋研究』 23巻に掲載されました。大統領令を計量テクスト分析して、省庁間調整の歴史的変遷を見た論文です。地域研究誌で取り上げられてこそと思った論文なので掲載されて嬉しいです！

浅古先生の『ゲーム理論で考える政治学 -- フォーマルモデル入門』を参考に、授業で有権者の投票のゲームを7ターン回した結果。ゲーム性を重視したので条件は多少弄ってあるけど、結構みんな汚職しまくっていて面白い。7ターン目の前に「このターンが最後」とは言った。

先行研究では民主主義諸国の方がコロナ死者数を正確に報告している（その結果、民主主義諸国の方が死者数が多く見える）ということが指摘されていました。今回の研究では、こうした国々では議会が強いために、不正確なコロナ死者数報告が許されないということを示唆しています。

手前味噌ですが私のこの研究は、感染症対策には女性首相・大統領は効かず、女性議員割合が効くことを示しています。そこから敷衍すると、ガラスの天井は女性首相にあるというよりは、議員割合の方にあるということな気がします。

日本の政治系大学院でも横断的な博論指導体制に関してはかなり差がある感。candidate試験がある早稲田、集団指導の場が何段階かある駒場に対し、弊専攻はあまりそういうのがない。
