Multiple trails at Bear Creek are closed due to flooding: Cottonwood, Fisherman's, Coyote Gulch and sections of Mount Carbon. The north park road is expected to close soon. Other trails remain very muddy.
After wrapping the final segment of construction the Bear Creek Trail and soft-surface parallel trail project, the full trail experience is now open. The contractor will continue to visit the site to wash out areas and complete landscaping improvements over the next month.
Be a trail hero! Protect your trails by not short cutting, remaining on the trail tread, and only stepping off the trail when needed to allow passing and to yield.

The trail conditions signs at Green Mountain have been moved to Yellow. There are still muddy areas but trails have dried up and improved. Avoid muddy conditions and stay on dry and established trails. Enjoy! ☀️
Due to damage of resources during mud season, the City of Lakewood has officially decided to close trails at Green Mountain Park when they become too muddy.

Ryland had a great day fishing yesterday at Bear Creek Reservoir when he caught this Rainbow on some garlic worms! Water levels are coming up and the fishing is on! Great job Ryland!
The final phase of construction for the Bear Creek Trail project from Kipling Parkway to Kipling Street will begin Monday, August 14. This phase is anticipated to take approximately six weeks, weather dependent. Detours are in place.
Even with warm days, trails are still very muddy and WF Hayden Park remains closed. Bear Creek Lake Park Trails are muddy as well, with use not recommended. The section of trail over Mount Carbon is closed. Please use paved trails while everything continues to dry!
The trail crew is out at WF Hayden Park today doing some pre-work for National Trails Day. Fingers crossed that Mother Nature cooperates tomorrow morning!

Trails at Bear Creek have dried nicely in almost all areas. WF Hayden Park status has been updated to “yellow” with a few remaining muddy areas to avoid, particularly near the radio tower.
Park staff are working hard to clear roads and paths this morning. If you plan to recreate outdoors please wear plenty of clothing, have all of your winter essentials and expect areas of snowpack and ice!
The trails at Green Mountain have reopened this morning. Please practice good trail etiquette and go straight through small remaining wet areas, not around, and be prepared to change plans if you encounter longer stretches of muddy trail. Enjoy the sunshine!
