Coastal Carolina’s first EVER taste of major success and GameDay runs to their door
Decades of success and Marshall doesn’t even get a sniff at it
Truly unbelievable, man
First things first, it’s so awesome he got a helmet sticker!
But dawg, we gotta send them an updated helmet that isn’t circa 2010 with a C-USA logo on the back 😂
Every single power that be within Marshall University, Marshall athletics, C-USA, and whoever else needs to start a serious campaign to get
@CollegeGameDay
to Huntington for the 50th anniversary next year
It doesn’t get any bigger than that
Marshall’s currently ahead of 17 teams from the P5 and almost 40 spots ahead of the second closest C-USA team in the 2022 recruiting rankings
Take notice,
@CoachHuff
is the real deal
One thing Huff has to do is keep the 75 game traditions that Doc started
Honestly, that’s probably the best thing Doc ever did at MU, and he did a lot of good things
Win, lose, or draw, the fact that Rasheen Ali is playing tonight speaks volumes to the kind of player he is
He cares about the program and despite already fulfilling everything needed to Marshall University, he’s going back out there
Man, the WVU fans that hate Marshall will come up with anything 😂
So soccer is a non-revenue sport that doesn’t matter now, but that’s still a bigger national title than they’ve ever won in any sport
“Yet what we suffer now is nothing compared to the glory he will reveal to us later.”
It’s been 53 years. Many weren’t even alive when it happened, but we’re deeply connected nonetheless. And in another 53 years, we’ll still remember 💚 We Are Marshall, forever
I love Marshall to my core. Fan almost my entire life, graduated from Marshall, big green member, season ticket holder, heck my wedding band is green
So that’s why there are so many upset fans, because they care and are passionate
I’ll always bleed green no matter what
One last thing I’ll say about it, thank you to every single Herd player that sacrificed so much to play for us as fans this season
You all deserve an endless amount of props
The way
@CoachHuff
has successfully pushed to get former Herd players back involved with the program has been phenomenal, and it keeps getting better all the time!
Not trying to pile on, but in the first 2 months of the Huff era, it shows how truly stale things had gotten under the previous regime
The spark is back
I don’t want to set a built-in excuse or anything like that, but whether they win or lose tonight, the fact that Marshall University has a sports team playing for a D1 national title in 2021 is miraculous and shows just how great this team is
With that being said,
#AllOrNothing
I truly believe Charles Huff is the best hire MU could have made outside of Byron Leftwich
He’s got every trait you’d want in a head coach and his coaching/recruiting pedigree is extremely high...WELCOME TO THE HERD
The 2014 Conference USA Champion Marshall Thundering Herd football team, along with former head coach Doc Holliday, are being honored on the field right now. A special moment for Herd fans as they celebrate one of the greatest seasons in program history.
Marshall had a 3rd and 10 from its own 7 with 9 minutes left in the game and ND had just taken the lead/momentum, and they converted
Most teams that were big underdogs like that would have folded under pressure like that
I vividly remember watching this program lose to New Hampshire, have multiple losing seasons in a row, and know where it came from after Nov. 14, 1970
The Herd just beat arguably the most storied college football program of all-time on its home field
If Marshall finishes 9-4 with a bowl win, a win over Notre Dame, a 75 week win over App State, and a 2nd place finish in the SBC East in its inaugural season in the league, I’d be pretty happy about that
Still got a long way to go, but it’s a distinct possibility
It’s a double-edged sword: for years, fans justifiably criticized Doc for sitting on the lead, gotta give Huff credit for not changing the gameplan just because he has a big lead to play with
Marshall leading rusher Rasheen Ali is expected to play in the Frisco Bowl against UTSA, a source tells
@247Sports
. There had been murmurs the Herd's leading rusher might opt out of the bowl game.
Laborn is one of the best RB’s in the country, but a backfield of Ali and Laborn could be the best 1-2 punch at RB in the country if/when Ali gets in there, maaaaaan 🔥
Again, ignore the shady editing job, but THIS is really something needed at the Joan, in my opinion
We see enough sponsors on everything else, let’s focus on why our program is great and show recruits what kind of program they could play for
