Palmer played her first 9 of the year at +3. She hasn’t played in a while but has been working hard practicing and surprised herself. Still searching for her first birdie of the year but had excellent chances for back-to-back on #13 & # 14 today. Good stuff!

Interesting day for the twins as MaryGrace who goes to Auburn went to see a friend in Augusta and did a drive by of August National & Lucas who is at Rutgers went to see a friend play football for Princeton in Yankee Stadium. Two iconic venues for sure, a good day for both.

While we are obviously wet, Toqua drains incredibly well and the course is actually very playable. The greens are excellent and we are very fortunate to have high performing bunkers @bergingolf - Enjoy the sunshine, shake off that cabin fever and tee it up!

Still probing & handwatering greens daily well into the first week of October. Mother-Nature is relentless so we cannot afford to ever let down our guard. Its is essentially August 65th and our greens are still in excellent condition. Kudos to the team managing this long season.

Top range tee will have grass again by the end of the day. Most heavily utilized amenity in the Village and one of the busiest ranges around with well over 200 players daily. New and improved variety Tiftuf will be replacing the old 419.

Mowed the new Tiftuf sod on the top driving range tee for the first time yesterday and it looks great. Team did an outstanding job on repairs and should be an overall improvement to the surface. We should be able to get on it in another week or so.

Did you know the average age of today's golf course superintendent is 46.5? A particular super turns 46 today which is right on that average. Gives me some peace about my son pursuing turf as there will be a lot of opportunity when this generation of supers moves out to pasture.
