We're thrilled to announce that we'll be opening on Sunday at 10am!
Books are still arriving every day and we're unpacking as fast as we can, but with room for over 70,000 titles we've still got a way to go! Do pop in to see how we're getting on, and to say hello.
There's a chill in the air, and nights are slowly getting darker. Luckily for you, our lights are on 9am-9pm every day. Come say hi, grab a pot of tea, and find your next favourite book.
...and a huge thank you to
@veschwab
for signing a lovely pile of books for us today. We are looking forward to welcoming you again soon, next time with tea! (Not Earl Grey, we promise).
What a lovely start to the afternoon welcoming Ian Rankin back to the bookshop. We are very excited to offer lovely signed editions of his new book! Thank you Ian 📖
One of our booksellers took this gorgeous photo of the shop🌈
As we move into the summer months of the festival, the city is buzzing with life. Pop in for a cup of tea or coffee to take a break from the crowds, get yourself a book and relax.
How lucky we are to live in a city which is home to so many wonderful authors. Thank you to Ian Rankin, Jane Healey & Alexander McCall Smith for making the time to pop in and see us and sign their new books! All these & many more signed books can be found in the bookshop 📚
Our door is open! 9am🕘 - 6pm🕕.
Drop by for recommendations and we can take card-payment at the door.
Plus no-contact collection for orders made online or over the phone.
We are delivering by hand (and bike)! As well as our postal deliveries, we will deliver to your door if you live close by. Give us a ring or drop us a line and we can get your books all sorted for you so you don't have to leave your home 🚲📬
🚨🚨 Just over a week until we reopen! 🚨🚨
Can't wait to welcome browsers inside again from Monday, 29th June!
In the meantime Edinburgh, we're still here taking orders from 9am-6:30pm (and busy making the bookshop presentable after its unexpected stint as a post office). 📮📚
It's the end of our first week being open again and to celebrate we have collected our most popular books from the last 7 days! 🎉 What have been your favourite lockdown reads?
Reminiscing about last August! Would you even believe that this was our ground floor on 27th August 2019 (a month before we opened, with all the books just starting to arrive)? And here it is now a whole year later 📚
We are open, but if you can’t make it to the bookshop we are posting books for £2, or free for orders over £50! 📚
And if you’re nearby and can’t leave the house, we are just a phone call away and more than happy to drop off supplies (bookish or otherwise).
McIlvanney’s manuscript has been finished and it’s finally out in the world! Thank you to Ian Rankin for popping in to sign a mountain of this new book earlier this week - we’ve got plenty of signed in the bookshop now & an event to look forward to as well ⬇️
As an independent, family-run bookshop we've so enjoyed welcoming Edinburgh's readers in to browse over the last six months. Yesterday, we closed our doors.
We're going to try to get books to you however we can, with postage as well as no-contact collection and delivery.
In advance of the bookshop's opening day this Sunday, we've had some wonderful authors call in for a tour and to sign their books. We were so pleased to welcome Ian Rankin (

) yesterday.
Here's wishing you all a spectacular New Year full of tea, coffee and many books.
We are open until 6:30 today and we look forward to seeing you to chat about your New Year's reading resolutions!
We don't just allow dogs in the bookshop, we absolutely love them! Do be warned that your four-legged friend will be fussed over and completely adored by our booksellers 🐾
