How you can tell that Miles is Gwen’s true love, is by the fact that she loves him unconditionally. Gwen’s feelings are never based on Miles’ position in life. Even when she thinks of him on the train, it’s not as Spider-Man, just Miles. It’s for the exact person that he is.

Miles is gonna follow Peter of 1610 and Peter B with Spider-Man romance. But he will be the only Peter Parker (in a spiritual sense) to not lose his Gwen Stacy. His story mirrors his predecessors, but he’ll become legendary because he writes how his own story is gonna go.

What I love about the arc Gwen is on, is the authenticity. You see, when Miles meets her as spider-Gwen this is what he sees of her. It’s cute, as he admires her because of the cool, confident posture, and being awesome. But at the time, it was mostly a mask.

Gwen suffered so much on her earth, and STILL all she wanted to do was run away with this boy on E-1610. Some of y’all are completely missing all of the context lol. I think some people hate this love story for deeper reasons than the narrative…

Do y’all think that had Miles not pursued Gwen through the portal, she would have successfully been able to let go of him? Everything I’ve gleaned from the narrative tells me no, because of what comes after this.

I feel like the difference in this Spider-Man and Gwen story is how different this Gwen Stacy is. She’s literally like an anomaly. She doesn’t follow any of the same trends for classic Gwen. This time, she’s actually a spider person. That’s the biggest difference.

Y’all, just be patient. The writers know what they are doing, and this is all a part of Miles and Gwen’s journey. I’m as confident as I can ever be that their romance will be paid off in the finale. All of the themes, and narrative decisions all point to this. It’s gonna happen.

Again, when they meet after a year, he’s very much in love with her, but he’s invested in the person of Gwen Stacy. She shares her fears, and isn’t ready to commit right now. Miles never makes her feels bad, or pushes her. Instead, he’s patient and waits on Gwen until she is.

I think it’s interesting that Gwen lost her mom early and grew up without one. It also makes sense for some of what we see from her personality is from the lack of a mother figure. I feel given the chance, Miles’ mom, Rio, could really become that mother figure she needs.

I don’t know if anyone noticed the theme, that “Home is where the heart is”. Gwen found a band that was like her, with a purpose, but in the end none of it was enough. Without spending it with the person who occupies the greatest space in your heart, it’s all just meaningless.

This is actually clear during Gwen’s speech to them. Rio saw right past the rough looking girl at the door, and knew Gwen loves her son. That was wonderful to me, as people are more than just what’s on the outside.

The relationship that I’m really looking forward to seeing in Beyond, is more of Rio and Gwen. Love the way Rio’s been written, as she contrasts Gwen’s rougher attitude, but in a way that actually shows that Rio is what Gwen is “missing”.

So this why I think that when she blows through the portal to Earth-42, it won’t be this girl to the left. It’ll be the one on the right who smiled, embracing the challenge and the fight. No hiding behind the bravado. She is the same as Miles, relentless confidence fueled by love
