@kolboded He's being honest. The Israeli soldiers shooting kids in the head, the Hamas fighters kidnapping women and children, the US soldiers who committed the my lai massacre - all might have been normal people under regular circumstances. Doesn't excuse or justify the behavior of course

My dream for this region is an end to the occupation and a Palestinian state, followed by full normalization between Israel, Palestine and the rest of the Arab and Muslim world. But the Lebanese were horrified by what they witnessed yesterday. You can't bomb your way into peace.

Peace. Normalization. Nothing less. Not a false cease fire. Not a useless UN resolution. Not a worse than useless UN "peace keeping" force. The fighting has to end with a full, parliament approved peace and normalization agreement between Lebanon and Israel. That is the vision.

This is a shameful truth. Many Arabs see Palestinians as a cause rather than a people, and the people suffer as a result. Palestinians live under apartheid-like conditions in Lebanon.

If Lebanon cares so much about solidarity with Palestinians, why do they force them to stay in refugee camps? Palestinians in Lebanon are denied basic rights like owning property, and almost half of them live in overcrowded, impoverished refugee camps. They are banned from

Comments about Noa dancing are disgusting. No one chooses to become a hostage. She can dance as much as she want, it's no one's business. This stuff is stupid, we should focus on pushing for an end to the war and the release of the remaining hostages.

I'm actually glad Noa still wants peace despite being held captive for over 8 months. She didn't chose to be taken hostage or anything that happened to her. Her and her dad are just normal people who didn't choose to become surveilled 24/7. With everyone attacking them.

My thoughts today are I don't believe it's been a year and the war is not only still going, but is expanding, and the hostages are not back. My thoughts today are that the world has a high tolerance for human suffering, that all of the dead were not enough to end this tragedy.

@FrankLuntz Joe Biden negotiated with the GOP in 2011 as part of Obama's administration. He learned an important lesson from that time and that is to not negotiate with unserious people who take the country hostage to pass spending cuts they never would pass under a Republican president.

Hezbollah's attacks hurt Gaza rather than help Gaza. Hezbollah's attacks lack justification, which makes an Israeli response justified. Additionally, they take attention away from the suffering in Gaza (notice how everyone is talking about Lebanon now rather than Gaza).

@faniaoz @amanpour I agree with the 2SS, but you give me pause when you say you want to destroy hamas through war or that peace might take generations. Peace is the only thing that will defeat Hamas. A war carried by a traumatized and humiliated nation (as you describe Israel) will never succeed.

In Lebanon Palestinians are treated horribly. Horribly! Forced to stay in camps, not allowed to own homes, forbidden from most good-paying jobs, etc. For generations they were denied citizenship. Hezbollah couldn't 'free' an inch of Palestine. What Hezb is doing is not for Gaza
