The Southern Illinois River to River Conference met this afternoon to discuss it’s future. After lengthy discussion, it was decided unanimously the eleven schools would continue to move forward to strengthen the competitive relationships that have existed for the past 27 years.
Players: Stop blaming your parents, teachers, coaches or “bad luck”. It’s a concept the whiney, pampered, excuse-making, entitled masses will never get:
Work!! Busting your butt, breaking a sweat & earning it just flat out feels great. There’s not a better feeling in the world!
Let your child (athlete) take responsibility for their actions – they own them…
Challenges, disappointments, losses, bad decisions and consequences are a very real part of life. Athletics is a great arena to experience and learn from these, if adults let them.

Did you Know? The SIRR Conference established & started in 1993-94. Since then, 9 of 12 SIRR Schools have been able to call themselves State Champions in a team sport! Also, the SIRR owns a total of 27

Sparta High School Bulldogs have voted to leave the SIRR Conference. The Remaining 11 schools are meeting to discuss their replacement and other options.

The SIRR Conference approved divisional realignment, beginning 2023-24 school year. Mississippi Division will consist of A-Jonesboro, Benton, DuQuoin, Nashville, Pinckneyville, & W. Frankfort. Ohio Division will consist of Carterville, Harrisburg, Herrin, Massac Co., & Mboro.
