I’ve didn’t even go to university, I’m a tradesman, covered in tattoos, drive a white van, spend my free time lifting weights & have never shopped Waitrose, yet I’m still labelled a “Metropolitan Elite”...
Sweet!
It’s very possible for tradesmen to have open conversations about our feelings, be opposed to racism, read books, recognise the climate crisis, welcome Jamie Oliver wanting our children to eat more healthily, and even on occasions, shop in Waitrose.
The people who encouraged you to vote for Brexit are angry at Donald Tusk for reminding you that they have never had a plan, whilst simultaneously have made plans for themselves.
Was discussing Brexit last night with my French in-laws who are over for the week.
Me: “What are the media saying back home?”
“Why would *you want to do this to your country?”
I then played them a clip of a bloke talking about being able to keep 3-pin plugs.
I’m going to cancel my Checkatrade membership. I will save £1000 a year AND I will demand that I have access to all of the customers who looking for decorators on their website.
I’ve done the maths.
You can’t be angry at the people who warned us what the reality of Brexit would be, as reality inevitably unfolds. They did after all, warn us. It’s never too late to start listening to them.
The people who insisted that the EU bully us, are the same people who are furious that the EU has offered us to phone a friend, ask the audience, go 50:50 & even pause the stopwatch...
No coughing, please.
Nigel Farage reminds me of that person who had a terrible tattoo done over 20 years ago but still can’t admit that they made a mistake & pretend they like it when someone asks what is, or was supposed to be of...
Blokes in gym changing room:
“I swear, I’m sick of it mate, if we don’t end up leaving the EU in the end, I’ll move to Portugal to live with my old man”
His mates reply: “Yeah man, you know that, I’ll join you”
Good grief.
This time last year to the day I listened to this incredibly moving call and I won’t ever forget it.

Auschwitz 75: Listeners brand this the "greatest ever" James O'Brien call
Nigel, I was listening to Britain’s best loved broadcaster on LBC a today, (1.3m listeners) and was shocked to learn there is French on British passports? We must finally take back control.

Something to take your mind off the news…
I decorate the woodwork first, cover it & create the line, then bring the wall colour down over the tape. I’ve found this the most efficient method with the best results.
It’s never too late to change your mind, your thought process, your education, your ability show empathy, your political direction, your ability to admit your errors, and lastly, to admit your ignorance.
It’s not a weakness...
You can break the chain of bigotry and racism. Even if raised and encouraged that it’s the correct way to be. And then you can raise your own children not to be...
Midwife in Sainsbury’s balling her eyes out. Following two 14 hour shifts can’t find food to feed her children due to the empty shelves. This isn’t right and we need to do what we can to help our NHS staff.
This is still one of the most memorable calls to

The Homophobic, Racist EDL Member Who Turned His Life Around, Thanks To James O'Brien
At work this week before applying the wallpaper I wrote on the wall:
“Compassion for the conned, contempt for the conmen - James O’Brien. March 2019”
It won’t be discovered for many years to come I imagine but well worth putting out there...
People who couldn’t wait to attack Megan Markle are remarkably quiet when it comes to calling out the Duke of York for providing “zero cooperation" to the Jeffrey Epstein sex trafficking inquiry...
Some people were prepared to defend Brexit even if it meant risking their own childrens’ jobs. Now, people are prepared to defend the government’s handling of Covid-19 as lives are still being lost. Loosen that political scarf!
As I expected, this ceiling rose boasts exquisite details throughout. No computer aided design 100 years ago, just careful consideration, as you can see. Stunning.
Now that’s what I call an entrance. I hope whoever made this gas lamp would have approved my work restoring it. It must be well over 100 years old. Thanks for all of the kind words about this project.
