Sadly, it is reported Kane Te Tai has been killed in Ukraine. You made us so proud as Kiwis and embodied that ANZAC spirit 💪 A great Totara has fallen - Kua hinga te tōtara o Te Waonui a Tāne.
Beautiful video from Ukraine.
A volunteer soldier from New Zealand storms a Russian position and detains a man in basement.
After a few seconds, the detainee recognizes him & screams “Novaya Zealand”?
Turns out, it’s a Ukrainian friend whom the Russians held captive for months
@JoannaLePut
You are an RAF family, I have lived in Army housing for over a decade. Trooper flights, really low cost housing, Tax free goods in Cyprus & Germany and a spouse with secure housing and I would never weigh in on this convo yet here you are...
@JoannaLePut
Most forces family know their how bloody lucky they are (Carillion Amey mouldy houses aside) and would not pipe up on here to patronise people with chicken receipes. Honestly Joanna, you are an embarassment to forces families. Please just go
Just witnessed a woman being sexually harrassed by 3 men in a van on the London Rd. They took the trouble to slow down, lean out the window to make themselves heard. Doing it with your employers name on the van was a bold move! I just dropped them an email.
Happy Easter Sunday. I am off to Sweden 🇸🇪 and shall be tweeting food and forest and Island photos. You have been warned. 🇸🇪 If my employer reads this - yes, I shall be working and online 😉
This came up on my FB timeline. Members of the Maori Battalion preparing to leave New Zealand (Rotorua to be precise) to fight in WW2 in Europe/North Africa. 11,000 New Zealanders would never return. The sacrifice must never be forgotten.
When Europe was kicking off for the second time in 20 years. We, the ANZAC came to fight and die. Thousands of miles from home. My uncle. 28th Maori Battalion,he survived, many did not. Ake ake ake, kia kaha e!
Lest we forget

Always great to catch up with

in Tunbridge Wells. A legend and a great friend to Ukraine!
@EngstrT
and I look forward to dinner late November.
Bold career moves made by moi. Happily I can travel, support my husband in his career for the next few months and freelance comfortably. Cheers to the next few months of living my best life.

Joanna blocked me! Haha! Literally toes curled across garrisons if they read that tweet! So tone deaf, here civillians is my receipe, add one cup of subsidised housing, 2 cups of secure employment, 3 tablespoons of housing with a garden (if you posting is long enough, plant veges
You know are married to a 🇸🇪 when you have this in the cupboard, it has been used and you also start to use it without any prompting. Im turning into a fan of dill. Was indifferent before.

When 🇸🇪 Border Polis asked me ' why are you here?' I pretty much said - to sit in a red cottage lake side in a forest in Smaland. The setting is perfect. My Mother in Law baked biscuits. The wine is chilled and my husband and I are soaking up this beautiful landscape.
My best friend. Soulmate. He who brings out the ferocious lioness in me. He has introduced me to 🇸🇪 and I love it. We married on International Writers Day last year. Celebrated our wedding anniversary at William Thackerys residence - sublime food. Here is to more life in our days
One year ago today, I married the love of my life - a beautiful friend and formidable ally, unforgettable since the first second we spoke, a continent apart. We celebrated our anniversary today with a luscious lunch at the one and only Thackeray's. Wishing you all a grand Sunday!
🚨 This is really important. UN chief
@antonioguterres
has written to the UN Security Council invoking Article 99 of the UN Charter to sound the alarm about
#Gaza
. He warns there’s “no effective protection of civilians.”
Q: Will the US let the council take meaningful action?
Thomas & I will be in London today to join the march. Do join us! Russia must pay for what it has done and continues to do. Ukraine will be victorious. 🇺🇦🇺🇦🇺🇦🇺🇦
Stand with Ukraine on Feb 24th!

Cancelled my Netflix after the Sunday Times article and it freed up enough cash to buy a wee run about. Next week after no lattes and no gym membership - Im going to buy a house
Boris Johnson endorsed Trump today. Yes, the very person who has praised Putin. By now, Boris has betrayed just about everyone - even President Zelensky, with this latest disgusting move, as we all know what Trump would do to Ukraine. Dusgusting!
Elgiganten (to buy an AirFryer, middle age fun) >IKEA>System Bolaget>ICA>Loppis>Plankstek> HOME! Happy Friday from our very hygge cottage in Sweden. Thanks to this man for being an absolute star🌟❤️
A beautiful spring day. Off to London for a meeting then a event to see the wonderful projects the charity I work for has funded in the last 12 months. London in spring is a sight to behold. Also, its London so alot of fun. Småland this weekend. 🇸🇪
The view from our porch. Can't wait to get out to Sweden this weekend. This trip,I will make some more chutney,possibly marmalade and recover from being ill.
No different to any parent, except he has endured the most unimaginable pain and fights 💪. He should never have had to lose his son nor put his on life on the line..Europe should have been tougher, earlier.
Russian Embassies need shutting. Ambassadors kicked out and returned to Russia. There is no place for Russia in the civilised world. Visa bans should have been in place ages ago. Why do folks I know from other countries struggle to enter the EU and Russians just fly in NBD?
There are at least 2000 Afghans stranded in Pakistan, waiting for leave to travel from the U.K. gov. Thousands more in Afghanistan being hunted by the Taliban. About time this was front page news.
Remember this abandonment when Mercer reminds you of his work for Veterans
Tack Sigrid! 🌻💛💙

Kanafeh Kunafa Kanafe Kunefe. However you say it, this dessert of flaky dough & soft cheese topped with rosewater or orange blossom syrup & crushed pistachios is a Middle Eastern classic
No one knows precisely where kanafeh originated, but there are many theories
A thread…
Cooked a very impressive dinner, did a solid days work and spent a good few hours toiling over a legal document for work 😩Spent the morning unwell. Selected the law school I will attend next year. Drank 1/2 bottle of Cremant. Happy Friday from 🇫🇷
We brought this rug at a moroccan shop in Marseille. Gorgeous in summer but how cheerful it will be in winter!
Rue the fact I did not buy cushions too but hey ho! The apartment smells of lavender & soap as I went crazy in the soap shops. Got some nice pottery too
Ok so, I am in two minds about this. I understand the annoyance as officers are more mobile than most but what irked me what the OC single, no kids had a 4 bed house and many JNCO/SNCO families with children were squished into a 2-3 bed house.
@queer_lit_prof
because instead of just voting for more weapons, Bernie could also push for our Government i.e. Biden and the state Department to start working on a peace plan that works for everyone. We are only providing fuel to a fire without trying to find water.
It's hard to believe it’s been 12 years we lost my dear friend and colleague Marie Colvin, murdered by the Syrian regime alongside Remi Ochlik while we worked in a makeshift media centre in Homs in 2012. Me, Edith Bouvier and Wa’el our dear translator were all seriously 1/3
Swedish freshwater crayfish and vasterbotten cheese pies. A simple supper. That candle holder is part of pair. Made in 1930 and brought from the Loppis/Antik shop in Orresfors
Farage and the right wanted Eastern Europeans out. It was the ‘woke’ people like myself and others who did not believe in Brexit and demonising Eastern Europeans. It wasn’t the far right welcoming Ukrainians. It was decent Brits.
If you are Eastern European and are sympathetic to the right wing thugs that are smashing up town centres and beating up minorities. Remember why Brexit happened and Nigel Farage and his kind perpetrating this are not your friends. They are racists.
My husband goes to get the winter tyres changed and returns with a beautiful mid century desk for me as a surprise gift. A very beautiful space to work and he has excellent taste.
Last night in Sweden. Sofa, robe & wine. 3 weeks of utter bliss. Forest walks, loppis shopping and 'brand new' shopping 😄 great food and most importantly, family time. Back in June. Now, back to the delightful, stressful UK for work.
Work is intense. I send Thomas to the tabac early (4pm) to have a few quiet beers as I finish work, then I join him. Back at the apartment. Marseille is its fabulous self. Campari & soda in the south of France warmth. I adore it here.

The whole 'go to ALDI' you have to get to ALDI first and they are often they are not accessible - living as an RAF family she will know how forces families rely on cars because military camps are miles from anywhere. How about those who cant afford cars?
Thank you for the lovely good wishes on our marriage yesterday. It is appreciated ❤️💍. Kalmar put on beautiful mild weather- the ceremony was perfection 🥰🥰 our hotel is divine - feeling the love!
Overpriced trains 😒 and bad hair brought on by wet weather! Off to London to give away money to good causes (including a rather sizeable donation to one charity that is close to my heart). Love my job ❤️ got my job 'face' on.
Roast lunch in a pub about 3 minutes walk from my house. Rain & a glass of Malbec with my roast beef and the husband. The teen dropped out because xbox is more thrilling than middle aged company
36 degrees. Little hole in the wall bar. Shady street. 🇬🇷🇪🇺 also have a Greek SIM card. 100gb. 15 euro. Little nibbles with drinks. Incredible fresh produce.
Dinner was a success. Mother in law helped herself to second and third helpings. The polynesian in me feels this deeply. No one leaves the table hungry!
Cooking for my swedish in-laws today. My father in law requested Dunns Rover fry chicken. So I am pairing it with indonesian cucumber & pineapple salad and rice. Apple cake & cream for pudding. The anxiety I am feeling right now 😬😬😬
Happy Mothers Day 💖 awaiting a nice message from my son who is not known ( in recent years) for his sentimental loving missives to his Mum. 🤣 teenagers...
Heading out in MID June with a sheepskin coat as it’s bloody cold. 🥶 Anyway, off to a hustings to hear how our parliamentary candidates feel about women’s issues. They have a tough crowd! Will report back!
@soapachu
When I just had my son and I was not very confident I could raise a human and feeling overwhelmed, the nurse picked up my son and said 'you have the sweetest Mummy'
No one has topped that in 13 years
Cold and windy day here in Småland, what better way to work than do it in this glorious room with this view? Super toasty and warm. Life is very good here 🇸🇪🫶
