This is all to say this, if you're only friends with people because of their proximity to the Church, maybe you're not really friends like they're thinking you are. Maybe you just like the idea of what they can do for you/your faith community. And that's kind of sad.

A guy I know posted to Facebook that he was leaving the Church. It kind of came as a shock to everyone considering the kinds of Church-related work he did and how vigorously he defended the Church in the past. It felt kind of out of the blue.

The president of the church just admitted to not paying tithing at one point in his life on a very meager sum. So, our prophet is also a man who has had to repent. It’s a not a huge thing, but hearing him say out loud that he’s a human is somehow comforting.
