@shaunrein
I don’t know where else you’ve been, but I’ve lived in Europe and travelled pretty extensively through Central America and Japan.
And nothing you just said is true.
@agelender
There’s no genocide happening against Israeli Jews because Hamas and Hezbollah lack the means - they certainly have demonstrated the intent.
@NerdeenKiswani
Thanks for dropping the veil and making it clear how hateful your movement really is.
I disagreed with you in the past; now millions like me will see you for what you are.
@shadihamid
It doesn't offend me. But the simple fact that nothing short of the dissolution of Israel will quench Arab pain is why so many are dying every day.
Israel exists. It isn't going to vanish, and bluntly, the Arab states don't have the power to destroy it. So the future looks like
@Empty_America
You’re assuming the issue homeless folks have is the lack of a home, rather than the lack of a home being the result of other issues.
For some, that’s true.
For most, it’s not.
@briebriejoy
No one I know says "Arabs" are intrinsically violent. Palestinians, otoh, have been brought up in a culture that celebrates attacking Jews. We saw ordinary Gazans follow behind the Hamas attackers on 10/7...and they weren't there to give first aid.
@mhdksafa
Easy to solve. Demand that Hamas releases the surviving hostages, and the bodies of the dead ones. Demand that they surrender, and accept a new government for Gaza that will uplift Palestinians and not treat them as disposable in the interest of foreign masters.
@Pflax1
Freedom is really the only answer necessary. Our society and culture are based on the default that people get to make their own choices.
We're seeing the product of turning our schools into Plaskool playgrounds with soft, rounded edges now, and it isn't pretty.
@richimedhurst
If they were resistance fighters, they’d target the IDF and Israeli leaders, not random rave-goers.
You just like it when your political enemies are harmed…
@mollymcghee
You live in NYC, write novels and you're likely an adjunct...those are luxury goods jobs that can mostly be held by trustafarian kids or purple who borrow insanely much and destroy their lives.
I'd look at John Sayles and try and figure out how he did it.
Audio recordings indicate that Hamas has control of nearly all of the aid entering Gaza.
In one released recording, one Hamas operative offers goods to another, saying “We have trucks overflowing with goods.”
The second Hamas operative rejects the offer, saying “We have
@jpazvd
Having spent time as a child with both, I'll suggest an alternative explanation.
High-income families are inherently resilient - they have physical, financial, and social resources that make errors tolerable.
Poor families can't absorb risk.
@Boenau
Not just "no" but "Fuck no." I've been riding pretty continuously for a long damn time in urban settings and while it might be "safe enough" to run a red or a stop sign, there is no world in which it's "safer."
@getfiscal
“The Nazi Party must have no place in the government of a Germany post Armistice.”
Why do the French, English, Russians and Americans get to decide this?
@NateSilver538
You mean the experienced DC hand who was going to reach across the aisle and do the practical things Americans need? That 1/20/21 Biden?
@Navsteva
Nasrallah and Hezbollah made it clear that they intended to genocide Israelis. They took steps to do so.
Israel responded. They lost.
Suggestion: Don't announce you intend to annihilate Israel, build a military to do so, and launch missiles at Israel.
@sameralatout
Well, when they call Hamas a death cult, I’ve viewed it as a slur.
But this sounds like you’re kind of supporting that, which is concerning.
@RalphNader
The fact that you remotely compare the treatment of the people Israel has captured vs those Hamas has is kind of disqualifying.
Israel can account for their captives. They are alive.
Walk me through the condition of the captives Hamas took on 10/7?
@juliettekayyem
As long as you don’t mind some Jewish students being chased around, detained and verbally abused. And quite possibly, beaten. As long as you complied with their takeover not just of public space (like a quad) but of school buildings.
Yours is a horrible interpretation, and one
@wanyeburkett
And I have a ton more respect for anticapitalists who do this.
If you want to promote an alternative model for the society that keeps us all alive, you kind of need to demonstrate that it works.
Show us.
@NathanJRobinson
It's really not difficult.
First, and foremost, if they hadn't left - like the ancestors of the other 1.7 million Palestinian Israelis - they'd still be there.
If they had stood against the eliminationist violence in 1948, there would be peace in the Middle East today.
There
@AHammoudMI
Nice words, and appreciated. But still there seems to be a lot of this kind of stuff coming out of your community. What are you saying to them?
@DrChrisCombs
What does "problematic" mean, exactly?
That I wouldn't take moral guidance from him? Certainly.
He's not an abuser; he doesn't beat his partners or drug them. What do you care what consenting adults choose to do?
@agelender
They aren’t. They are paying the price for keeping a 15th century antisemitism alive as a part of their religion and for fantasies of a Pan-Arab state that led them to try and wipe out the nascent Israel rather than embracing it as a partner.
@NathanJRobinson
That's odd. I'm a defender of Israel and I've called it Palestine since 2005, when Israel withdrew from Gaza.
Sorry to wreck the fun...
@realEstateTrent
Had that happen a few times in NYC.
Me - "Gosh, I'm sorry. I can't pay in cash. I appreciate the ride." and start to get out.
They can magically take a card then.
