DJing at its purest is the best—making people have fun. DJing at its worst makes me want to jump off a bridge: a 28-year-old dipshit in a $150 suit and Jordans telling you to “pick it up.
The only black dude in this club is giving me the death stare for playing Abba.🤣🤣🤣 I’m sorry, brother. I need to pay my rent and onlyfans subscriptions.🤣
Five years ago, I was broke, with no DJ gigs and no music career to mention. Yet, I persevered because music is my passion. I’m not rich or basking in fame, but I'm making a living in one of the most expensive cities in the world, doing what I love.
Respectfully, no. DJ'ing house is a totally different thing. I highly doubt that most could play a set of the same caliber as a working house DJ. There's records that most just won't know.
Last year I had 2.5k streams, my mom was dying, and I was THIS close to quitting music. This year I had 244k. No drake numbers but I made some improvements.💞
I’m still upset about the time I was DJing Soho House, and I invited this girl to come through. She used my entire food and drinks tab, then ghosted me.🤣🤣
I hate to complain as a DJ, but imma complain. As an opener if you’re going to play the biggest song of the night before midnight AT LEAST LET THE FUCKING SONG PLAY THE WHOLE WAY THROUGH.
If you put 10k hours into real estate you’d probably be rich. If you put 10k hours into djing/ music you might work at guitar center. There are no guarantees in any creative endeavors.
Told myself I would get a million streams this year and I fell short. I did put out some 🔥music on some really cool labels tho. Next year will be even better.
Young DJs are so wild. I’m doing my thing on the decks and this dj who I had just met starts touching the mixer, playing with the FX, and doing DJ theatrics. 🤣🤣🤣Wild!
