Maryland fans need to give a huge amount of appreciation to Danny Manning. He walked into a situation, acting as an assistant to a friend and former teammate, had that guy quit on him and the team mid-season, and did a damn fine job keeping this team together. Thanks, Danny!

My Dad passed away on Thursday evening just after Maryland lost to Iowa. Today, the @Ravens best Tennessee, @TerrapinHoops upset #12 Illinois on the road, and the Steelers are getting their asses kicked. Not bad, Dad. Not bad at all.

Maryland was very unfortunate in that one of the biggest Orioles games in a decade was also happening last night. 46k there. Outsiders who know nothing about the area don't realize that Maryland has to compete with Orioles, Ravens, Commanders, Nats, Wizards, Caps.

The most Maryland football thing ever is the Terps beating Rutgers to become bowl eligible and knocking the Scarlet Knights out of a bowl only to have Rutgers end up in the *Gator Bowl* to replace a team who has to pull out due to Covid. Unbelievable.

With Coach K's impending retirement, I'm hearing that Duke could be open to playing Maryland in the Big Ten - ACC Challenge in the years ahead. New head coach Jon Scheyer doesn't hold the same animosity towards Maryland that Mike Krzyzewski does & wants to revive the rivalry

Here's a solution - the Nationals can honor the deal they agreed to as a condition of their move inside what had become Baltimore's market share. The agreement is supposed to benefit Baltimore disproportionately to mitigate & compensate for the Nats coming to DC. This isn't hard.

I hope people show up to the Maryland game next week. This team is really talented. They were perhaps 2 mistakes away from upsetting the #4 team on the road. They could be 8-1 or 7-2 after the next 5 games. Hell, they lost, but feels like Maryland should be ranked next week.

The Northwestern clock operator should be fired. They had a few clock issues but none bigger than this. MD inbounds to bring ball up without touching to save time. Clock incorrectly starts. So they have to reset the clock and re-inbound. Allows NW to put defender on the inbound.

I don't know if Manning is the next head coach for Maryland or not, but you can't tell me this team isn't different under Manning. And that Manning doesn't make on the fly adjustments better than Turge. Switching to zone, between 2-3 and 3-2 and that full court press was great.

I think Kevin Willard is good and will hopefully succeed at Maryland! He's young, has done a lot with very little at Seton Hall. And @AndrewEmmer can correct me if I'm wrong here, but I think Willard had been mentioned for other big jobs in past years and he turned them down.

This has been one of the most frustrating Maryland basketball seasons I can remember. Team would look great and play great D and then just completely disappear for the longest stretches. How many leads did they blow? Then lost close game after close game. Willard has work to do.

Six games isn't a tiny sample size. It's 20 percent of a regular season. Only the most stubborn coaches are going to play exclusively man defense moving forward against Maryland, at least until the Terrapins prove they can make some outside shots.
