I couldn’t be more proud of how these girls have represented our squad and
@TeamNCSoftball
! They brought THE LITTLE THINGS to
@USSSAFastpitch
Select 30 and it showed! The future is bright 😎
SO PROUD of how we bonded as a team this week in Colorado. 5-3, Gold bracket. Wins against teams from 4 states. 3 come from behind wins including 2 walk-offs. Everyone did something special to help win ballgames. There’s no group I’d rather go to battle with!
We want to congratulate our mentor and friend,
@natalya_salo
, on 400 career strikeouts! Oh, and she hit THREE 💣s tonight, too! You’re a special talent and a special young lady. Thanks for being apart of our extended family 😊
Riley Walker (2029) picked a good time for her first 💣 With two outs in the last inning of a tie game, the two run blast ends up the game winner against a very talented Cardinals ‘09 squad. Congratulations Ri!
Callie Hill (‘28), Monica Jones (‘28), Kaylee Kurk (‘29) and Riley Walker (‘29) representing at
@USSSAFastpitch
Select 30! Girls looked great in evals. 💥
Incredibly proud of this squad’s resilience. In a loaded PGF event, we dropped two early games with uncharacteristic and costly mistakes. We cleaned it up over lunch and didn’t lose again.
Finished 4-2-1 against some of the best. Now, it’s back to work on The Little Things!
4-0 in pool play at the All Sanctioned World Series in O-H-I-O. Sarah Moser (P, 2028), Riley Walker (C, 2029), and Kaylee Kurk (SS, 2029, twice) were pool play game MVPs. Bracket play starts tomorrow at 10.
We’re thrilled to welcome twins Heidi and Rileigh Barker (2028) to the Team NC family! Heidi is a power-hitting C/3B and Rileigh is a power-hitting P/1B. Both bring a team oriented mentality, high game energy, and tremendous softball IQ. Our team is better with these two gamers!
Congratulations to Kaylee “KK” Kurk (‘29, in white) and Riley Walker (‘29, in blue) for making the final Select 30 game
@USSSAFastpitch
S30! Both girls continue to have amazing weekends.
We are excited to welcome Lyric Dulin and her mom Jamie to the Team NC family! Lyric has a powerful bat, extraordinary athleticism, and versatility - all 9 positions - that immediately makes us better. She’s a true 5 tool. Amazing attitude, competitive spirit, and smile!
Finished up pool play at The Sparkler with a 3-1 record. The team also enjoyed a Rockies game on a beautiful night for baseball!
Next up, gold bracket opener against a loaded ‘09 Texas Bombers National team, Friday at 8 AM.
We came to play the best! Let’s go!
I love our weekend practices together. Next weekend we’re back competing against other teams … but the development that happens on these team weekends is priceless!
We live to fight on! A tough fought 3-2 win moves us to 4-2 at The Sparkler in Colorado … and more importantly, it means we play on! Back at it early Friday morning against a strong Arizona Cats squad. We’ll be ready!
Some of the ladies showing up to support Coach Joe (1-2) at Marvin baseball’s youth night! Maddie Diaz, Callie Hill, Riley Walker, and Kaylee Kurk. They also watched Marvin softball beat conference foe Sun Valley, 15-4.
@Addisonstudney1
with a grand slam!
Thank you to
@Winthropsoftbal
for hosting a few of our girls at camp yesterday! Maddie Diaz, Addy Sailer, and Amelia Hartley (not pictured), all 2028s, had a blast and learned a ton!
Huge thank you to
@TeamNCHinde
for having us out for 4 hours of softball today! Our girls got to work with a bunch of D1 commits … learning from the best of the best. We got better today.
Riley Walker (2029, catching) and Kaylee Kurk (2029, batting) working with
@WoffordSoftball
commit
@natalya_salo
(pitching). Natalya continues to pour into our girls, making them better prepared mentally and physically. She has huge fans in Team NC Walker!
Strong 3-1 start to the season. We held a 2-1 lead, courtesy of Charlotte Llaneza’s (pictured, 2028) second 💣 of the day, going into the last inning. A strong hitting USA Athletics (GA) club reclaimed the lead in the top, and we left them loaded in the bottom. Fun to be back!
Happy these four are wearing the same uniform this weekend! Maddie Diaz (2028), Riley Walker (2029), Kaylee Kurk (2029) and Sarah Moser (2028). Weddington wins to split the regular season middle school series.
Day 1 in the books at
@USSSAFastpitch
Select 30! Kurk (‘29), Walker (‘29), and Hill (‘28) all with barreled hits and Jones (‘28) pitched an impressive inning (K, 0 ERs). New friends, fantastic competition, and lessons learned! Day 2 is underway!
Hugely grateful to
@WoffordSoftball
commit
@natalya_salo
for pouring into our girls today! She talked recruiting, social media, camps, and commitment. She did it all with a smile and energy that clearly shows her love for the game! Thank YOU Ms Natalya!

Callie Hill (‘28), Oakleigh Herring (‘28), Riley Walker (‘29), Barrett Price (‘28), and Kaylee Kurk (‘29).
Season kicks off in less than two weeks!
We finished up the fall with a come from behind 6-5 victory, pushing our record to 22-9-3. It’s been an amazing start to 14U softball! We’ve cut our teeth and the best is yet to come for this group of 2028s and 2029s!

On this National Catchers Day, we celebrate Charlotte Llaneza (2028), Riley Walker (2029), Kaylee Kurk (2029), and Coach Joe Walker (2025). These four like to play in the dirt!
Rivals, but only for a night! Marvin gets the win, 12-7, after Weddington swept the series last season. The girls in the same unis again on April 13-14.

@calliehill_22
(‘28) was 3-3 against Unity and
@KK___Kurk35
(‘29) was 2-2.
Proud of this group! ♥️
Great start at The Sparkler (Open) in Colorado! Our team is grinding through some injuries and other adversity. We’re getting tested consistently … and today we answered the bell 🔔 We’re controlling the controllable and the girls were rewarded today. 💥
Addy Sailer (2028) and Callie Hill (2028) may get more swimming done in this rain than softball ☔️ … as long as it’s dry this weekend when they put on the same jerseys again!
Finished 6-3-2 at the Crown Jewel, taking first in the silver bracket. This weekend was about grit … working through obstacles to control the controllable. Our two healthy pitchers were absolute work horses. Proud of this group!
Had an opportunity to observe
@TeamNCPritchard
at
@LibertySB
team camp yesterday.
@CoachDot_LU
is an energetic leader and elite speaker. Clear reason the program continues its steady rise … her investment is 💯 Leads by example. Our team will go in the near future!
Two weekends in a row we’ve been asked if we’re an all ‘09 team. As a team of ‘10s and ‘11s, it’s the greatest compliment we can receive. We continue to punch above our weight, getting better for the future. A 7-0 W over an excellent Georgia Impact team highlighted yesterday.
@natalya_salo
in the circle and Coach
@EPresutty25
at third. Two of the best! Salo with the complete game shutout (w/ a hit) … Coach Em was 1-2 w/ a triple, walk, and SB. Several Team NC players in attendance. We’re thankful for the impact both these players have on our girls!
An uncharacteristically sloppy day led to an early exit from the Pink Out. We know we can’t allow good teams additional chances. We’ll learn from it and be ready to roll in two weeks! 3-1 on the weekend pushed our season record to 15-6. Proud of this group of 28s + 29s!
We were able to avoid the rain and get some play with
@TeamNC09Summer
. We’ll do the same today with
@TeamNCKobziak
. The girls continue to keep their focus on THE LITTLE THINGS, improving every day!
Good start in the DC Fastpitch Pink Out at Tyger River. 3-0, securing the 2 seed. First pitch today at noon.

Big congratulations to Jules Gibbons (2029) for being one of only three 7th graders to make Marvin Ridge Middle School’s varsity volleyball team! 💥 Our number 13 wears 52 on the hardwood.

In her second year, Coach Turybury earns her second Coach of the Year award. The South Meck program continues to grow as they added a JV team. Coach T is excited for the future and states that nothing would be possible without the effort and work ethic of each of her players.
Hit my PR tonight 3 times!! I knew I felt a little faster😜 Hard work DOES pays off! Thanks
@DrewPeterson_SB
and
@coachjanelhayes
for your help this week!
It was awesome having our full squad on the dirt again yesterday … followed by a fun holiday party! Teams are built on and off the diamond. This group is bonded and ready for 2024!
Some of the girls hanging with
@Wass_Strength

L to R: Monica Jones, Kaylee Kurk, Sarah Moser⚡️Riley Walker, Amelia Hartley, Oakleigh Herring, Addyson Sailer
Our CF Maddie (2028) is tough as nails. She finished the season playing through significant pain … delaying surgery until the offseason. She’s an A+ defender with tremendous courage! Let’s get to work! 💪
@TeamNCSoftball
On this International Women’s Day, we sure are grateful for this group. Along with their moms and sisters, Coach Em, and all the other softball players blazing a trail. I’m a fortunate coach to walk alongside you.
After playing in the dirt all afternoon, we continued competing through the evening … this time in a Minute to Win It challenge. SS/C
@KK___Kurk35
and Coach
@JoeWalker2025
took the “ship” with SS/3B
@calliehill_22
and 3B/C Charlotte Llaneza finishing a CLOSE second.
I had a great time back on the field with my team
@TeamNCWalker
! Not too bad for my first tournament as a Slapper:
AVG .400
OBP .500
3 RBIs
2 runs scored
5 fielding outs
2 double plays
One of my double plays was throwing someone out who was trying to tag up and go to third.
Our softball players excel in other areas, too! At their end-of-season banquet last night,
@AddysonSailer
was recognized as Metrolina’s “Player of the Month” in December for contributions on the hardwood and in the classroom! Atta kid! Super proud.
Now … back to the dirt 😜
Monica Jones (2028) and Team North Carolina continue their business at the Little League World Series. 8-2 over Florida and 10-2 over Georgia. Next up, Tenn on 7/27 @ 1:00 (on ESPN+). Monica’s line v GA: 4IP, 1H, 2BB, 0R, 6Ks.💥

Last weekend, hitting was off & my team had my back. When they needed me the most, I had theirs. In last inning had a RBI double to tie the game. Then tagged up from 3rd on an Infield pop up to walk it off and get us to the finals!
