in Oosterbeek to lay flowers on the grave of his friend.
Very sad to share that RAF veteran Roy Nash died on 5 November. He was a very important member of our veteran family and a dedicated member of our collection team who loved a sing song. He will be greatly missed.
WWII Veteran Don Howkins who served with the Middlesex Regiment from 1940 till 1946, will be celebrating his 103 birthday on 26 January and his family would love him to receive 103 birthday cards. Please send cards c/o Taxi Charity, 13 Musley Hill, Ware, SG12 7NA by 22 Jan.
We are deeply saddened to share that on Monday evening WWII veteran Harry Rawlins passed away. He was an important member of our veteran family and will be greatly missed.

We have received the sad news that former Essex Regiment and Glider Pilot Regiment veteran Captain Ron Johnson, has died at the age of 102. On a trip to Normandy in 2017, Ron took part in a Q&A The questions were quite emotional and Ron simply told the room to 'love one another'

service this weekend offering free taxi rides for veterans in London on Remembrance Sunday.
Today one of our volunteers picked up 95 year old Fleet Air Arm veteran Ted Munton from his home in Fulham and took him to an outreach event at the Royal Hospital Chelsea. Afterwards another volunteer picked him up and returned him safely home.
This is what makes our volunteers so special ‘Roy arrived in 1944 in a landing craft but managed to get ashore without getting his feet wet. He said he always felt guilty about that. Today we removed that guilt from him.’ Micky

Today we bid farewell to Alec Hall, the last remaining member of 181 Field Ambulance (Airborne). A more selfless man you couldn't wish to meet. Alec, it was always a pleasure to be in your company. Rest in Peace.

Our friend Bill Parr, formerly of the Cameron Highlanders and the Black Watch, has died. Bill was two weeks away from his 91st birthday. He was a founder member of our fabulous team of collectors and rarely missed a date. RIP Bill.

Today our volunteers Susy and Dick Goodwin have delivered birthday cards to WWII veteran Don Howkins. Don is celebrating his 103 birthday and is very pleased that the power of X has meant he has received cards from all over the world.
Today 60 cabs will be taking a group of veterans to Worthing for the day. We have been making this trip every year since the 40s and

Today, 100 of our volunteer cabbies will be picking up veterans and carers from their homes and taking them on the Taxi Charity’s annual day trip to Worthing. After a pit stop at South Holmwood village for refreshments, the taxis will travel in convoy along the A24 to Worthing.

Delighted that Vic is helping us to collect at London Bridge. Every penny we collect today will be used towards veteran trips including, Worthing for a day next summer and Normandy for a few days to commemorate the 80th anniversary of D Day in June.
It was an early start this morning in Normandy as some of our cab drivers joined two Afghanistan veterans and one of our French supporters to walk from Sword beach to Pegasus Bridge.
