🔴⚫️ NEW EPISODE DROP ⚫️🔴
After a brief hiatus, we are back to talk the latest in the Hoops Transfer Portal.
-Updates on the departures.
-What to expect from the new additions.
-Targets?
PLUS
-Is Deion becoming TOO much?
-Yormark’s comments on NCAA tournament expansion
So let me get this straight.
-Chris Beard left Texas Tech to coach Texas
-Texas gets 3 of the Top 10 best available transfers in the portal
-Texas is a preseason Top 5 team
And they didn’t make it past the Round of 32?
And Texas Tech is in the Sweet 16??
That’s a real shame
2004: Texas Tech HC Mike Leach and Starting QB Sonny Cumbie go 8-4 and win the Holiday Bowl vs. Cal and Aaron Rodgers.
2021: Leach and Cumbie will coach against each other in the Liberty Bowl.
College football is crazy, man.
Something that got lost in the big win yesterday was Tubby Smith potentially retiring from coaching.
Tubby was the beginning of the turnaround for Texas Tech Basketball.
Got guys like
@K3vans12
and
@kingno_
to TTU and completely changed the culture.
Wreck 'Em, Tubby!
Marcus Santos-Silva knocked down the biggest free throws of his career tonight.
There are no words for how much that guy was made for the moment.
Unbelievable.
$32 million dollar basketball facility opened in 2021.
$200 million dollar football stadium/facility upgrades.
$2.5 million worth of NIL contracts for football players.
Texas Tech has BIG money.

Ok new plan. The Big 10, Big 12, PAC 12 and ACC all dissolve and every team joins the SEC.
The SEC is re-named to the “College Football Conference” and then they split that into 5 sub-conferences and call the sub-conferences:
1) Big 10
2) Big 12
3) PAC-12
4) ACC
5) SEC
Sad, sad day for all of college football.
Mike Leach was a brilliant mind and instituted really fun and exciting football at Texas Tech.
He brought winning football to Lubbock and we’ll forever be grateful for that.
Gone way too soon. Prayers to his family.
Rest in Peace. 🏴☠️
Drew staying at Baylor is obviously a good thing for Tech keeping Mac, but it’s also a good thing for the CBB as a whole.
A program like Baylor keeping a coach from a blue blood like UK gives hope for the rest of us to build something special.
Feel good for our BU bros today.
Chris Beard’s 1st season coaching the Longhorns:
>0-2 vs Texas Tech
>Two players left his team mid-season
>Criminal underuse of talent
>Lost the final game in the Erwin Center
>Round of 32 exit
But hey at least he gets to coach his alma mater.
Transfer Seniors that have played big roles on TTU teams since 2018:
-Tommy Hamilton IV
-Matt Mooney
-Tariq Owens
-Chris Clarke
-TJ Holyfield
-Marcus Santos-Silva
-Bryson Williams
-Kevin Obanor
-Davion Warren
-Adonis Arms
Experience helps, even if it's not with your program.
How about Mark Adams trusting Buzo at a crucial point in the game?
Dude hasn’t played all year and Adams believes in his guy. Hits a clutch shot and plays fantastic defense.
Coach Of The Year.
Buzo of the Year.
A lot of negative thoughts and feelings tonight.
But I’ll do it one more time for the guy who never gave up through a mountain of adversity.
One of my favorite Red Raiders to ever put on the jersey.
Appreciate you

Texas Tech coming in at
#19
on the AP Poll.
This ends Texas Tech’s steak at
#25
at 3 weeks in a row.
Texas Tech is also officially ranked higher than Chris Beard’s Longhorns (
#21
)
It’s official. We can start fully preparing for the return of Chris Beard.
Been waiting for this since April 1st.
I want to kick that guy’s ass to the moon.
Obviously missing out on Ewers stinks, but this Texas Tech QB room has potential to be great.
Morton, Smith or Shough in Zach Kittley’s system is going to be really fun to watch!
# of Wins in 1st season as Head Coach of Texas Tech Basketball since 1950:
Mark Adams: 23*
Bob Knight: 23
Eugene Gibson: 19
Chris Beard: 18
James Dickey: 15
Tubby Smith: 14
Pat Knight: 14
Gerald Myers: 14
Bob Bass: 14
*Season still in progress
Kevin Obanor is averaging 19 PPG and 11.8 RPG while shooting 55% from the field in his 5 career NCAA tournament games.
Had 15 points & 15 rebounds against Notre Dame last night.
Stepping up when it matters most.
I could’ve scripted the Longhorn Twitter reaction after losing to Tech. It’s always the same.
> Unsafe environment bs
> Call Tech irrelevant
> ”You still have to live in Lubbock”
After all, we’ve seen this same reaction 5 times already this year 😉
Didn't realize this before, but it's probably pretty cool for Bryson Williams, KJ Allen and Chibuzo Agbo to go back to their home state for the NCAA Tournament.
Bryson Williams from Fresno, CA
KJ Allen from Los Angeles, CA
Chibuzo Agbo from San Diego, CA
Ok so hear me out.
TTU goes 6-6 after firing Matt Wells mid-season.
Joey McGuire is hired as TTU HC.
OC Sonny Cumbie leaves to take the HC job at LA Tech.
DC Keith Patterson is hired by ACU for their HC.
And Texas Tech STILL doesn’t have any players in the transfer portal???
>Iowa State loses to Oklahoma State tonight
>Iowa State angry and desperate for a win in Waco
>Pissed off Iowa State beats the breaks off of Baylor on Saturday
>TCU sweeps Kansas on Thursday
>Texas Tech smokes Oklahoma State on Saturday
>Texas Tech Big 12 Champs
Look, a Kansas loss tonight would help a lot for Texas Tech’s Big 12 title hopes, but a Texas home loss is just fantastic.
It’s a win-win scenario in my eyes.
