Finished all the Retopo, UVing, and baking now! Gun ended up at 10879 tris and the flashlight at 3003 tris for a total of 13882 tris

Isn't it strange that Game dev is one of the few industries where over time isn't paid at all? If that were to be a thing, leadership would be held accountable for any bad planning and would have to really think about how they structure everything

A little tip here for aspiring prop artists When looking for references if you are doing anything based on real life, remember to get measurements and if you are making guns, try to learn as much as possible about it (Gun anatomy) Here are some examples of what I look for:

@polycount I think it's a solid way of showing things but personally I dont think showing maps is the best way, I prefer to have the views from substance combined with wireframe and UVs, I think it reads better and you can clearly see how it is set up All the kudos to Adam though!

PSA to all beginners within the 3D space, the most important thing to focus on in the beginning is fundamentals, spend time learning those and please use tutorials (here's a secret for you, professionals also use tutorials all the time, there is no shame in it)
